First of all, I'm new here, so hello everybody! Secondly, English is my second language, so I'm bound to get it wrong, especially concerning snowmobiles. They didn't cover that in school pinch.png

So, I bought a old Formula MX -91 for cheap, and I'm happy with it, except for the lousy track that came with it. Now I'm thinking of buying a track with 36 mm lugs, but those wont fit between the drive-wheels and the cooler. Also, this model has slides in the tunnel, which newer tracks don't accommodate.

First question is this: how long is the track on my Formula MX? I hope it's the standard 307 cm (121"), but after some research it seems it may be a bit shorter. The only "bombardier original" tracks matching the one that's on the sled are 290 cm (114"). Keeping my fingers crossed someone could tell me the correct one!

Second question is this: the cooler runs along the length of the tunnel. Would it be okay to grind the fins down at the front, to make the longer lugs fit at the drive-wheels? Also, if I have a properly tightened track, couldn't I do without the slides?

Feel free to correct me, as I'm certain I got a lot of words wrong!
Thanks for any advice I can get!

ok... your sled has a 114.. used to have the same rig, but i would convert to 4 side drive cogs in the front and use the skid (rear suspension) setup out of a newer sled that is a 121, if you grind heat exchanges (coolers) they will leak like a siv seeing as coolant runs through them you can pick up a newer chassis with a 121 pretty cheap and your motor should fit in it with a little bit of work use F2000 chassis and you should be all set.
