Trying to get my 1994 XCR 440 Special to run and accelerate good as for the past year it has a large bog down low on acceleration. I have been trying to get rid of this bog by playing with the carb and adjusting the needle, and air screw. With no luck I come to you guys. I was wondering what I need to try next and how so? Could it be the clutch or is it all the carb?
Thanks for your help,
Carl

rejetting may help, could need a rebuild, whats compression at? if its low it could just run like crap at low rpms but is made up for at higher rpm's its kinda out there but its possible. rebuild your carbs also, change plugs, pull the head off the cylinders and make sure there clean and get rid of carbon build up, it could be one thing or a combination of ten things, make sure its getting enough air.

First thing I'd try is new springs in both clutches, they may be sagged out over the summer.
Sagged out springs will make it upshift too quick, making it start in "high gear" , also a sagged out secondary spring will hurt backshift when you let off the gas and then punch it again.
Also, a worn belt will cause similar things.
