will a slp can give a 2002 xcsp edge 600 a nice sound and will it sound different than stock

SLP makes a good can, not too loud but definitely a better sound than stock. A buddy of mine has the same sled as you with a MBRP can and it sounds great, probably a little louder than a SLP but no annoying. Sno-Stuff also makes a good can called a rumble pack, they sound awesome too, however they are pretty loud and can be annoying if you're riding down the trail for a long time.
