My dad has a 02 viper and today a group of us went riding it....well towards mid-day his temp light started coming on all the time and there was plenty of loose snow to keep it cool as non of the other 4ppl had a problem..... He had to keep dipping off the trail in powder whenever he could to get the light off....and the other week it also did when it was much colder out...so any help on this would be great

the sled is a 02 viper and he just put a 136 conversion on it from Hartman Inc. this year

did he have any ice built up on his cooler?

Check his coolant level and make sure that his cooling system is bleeded properly. To check this the bleeder is under the seat near the rear of the sled.

Does it have a rear exchanger? You might want to add one. Also try searching TY. Seem to recall others having the same issue with the Hartman extension.

My dad had the same problem with his viper. I recall him figuring out that the vipers do have a touchy temp gauge. thats the only advice i got on that.

wasnt there a recall on the coolant pumps of the 02 Vipers? My dealer mentioned something about it when i asked them if there was any issues with the Vipers but he just didnt explain it too thoroughly to me since we ran the VIN and mine already had some work done on the water pump. Just a thought...
