I took my Pro-X2 out yesterday for the 3rd time this season. Within minutes of hitting the trail, I had to pull over because the backend was bouncing me right out of the seat. I flipped over the sled, only to find the rear track shock reservoir & hose completely missing. The only thing left was the shock body & two loosened hose clamps. I didn't hear anything bouncing or banging at any point.
I had all four shocks rebuilt by Goodwin in December. I never loosened the hose clamps on the reservoir prior to sending them in, and never noticed them not being completely cinched down by Goodwin when I installed them. I was already disappointed in the rebuild job on the front shocks...I need to run them maxed out on 6 for trail-riding, and I'm nearly bottoming them out when we hit the bumps.
I'm overnighting the shock body to Goodwin tomorrow. What do you think the chances of them working with me on this are? I'm completely disappointed service work they have performed on these shocks...now I'm facing a costly repair.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck but when you put the shock back in was the shock remote facing up or down ? where is the hole in the shock body now is it up or down ? my guess is you re installed the shock with the remote on the top and the first time the skid compressed compleatly it checked out , the remote should be on the bottom of the shock with it mount in place.

ya sounds like upside dwon installation to me. i do lots of we shock and beside wrong intallation rear track shocks res down fall off. the front track shocks get ripped of every once in a while but the rears no. as for the fornt being to soft did you get them revavled? you can really complain about the rebuild not being stiff enough usless they revavled them. they should be alsmot the smae after every rebuild. lighter and heavy oils do maek a little difference but not a ton.

No, the shock was installed correctly (shock body down, reservoir under the shock body). I did talk to Goodwin this morning & they said to send the shock in & they'll take care of it. Pretty classy.
