I was just wondering how the Cabot trails are doing......everyone seems to have clammed up about it,so I am assuming they are doing a good job....
I personally have ridded their trails, the last 2 weekends in a row (not this weekend) and I was VERY IMPRESSED,they seem to have finally gotten it together in the grooming dept. ( I hope anyway) I know that 2 weekends ago I rode back through there on Saturday night, figuring the worst, trails were right on par with everyone elses (for a sat. night) trails were used but very ridable.... And last weekend, rode home from the NEK Via. Cabot, sunday afternoon, trails were SWEET !!
GOOD JOB !!
Just was wondering if this was a fluke, hitting them while good,or if they've been keepng up the good work....anyone ride through this weekend???? ( I know you did.....)

The guy who used to do the grooming the past few years ( Luke Persons) is back grooming for the club and training others to groom. Rode in Cabot this weekend and trails were tabletop.

Rode their trails Friday and it was a mixed bag, some were very good and some were beat. I think with the increased traffic they are getting it will be difficult so have them all nice all the time. As a side note I finally got to ride their new Coits Pond trail and it was awsome! The trail is a hoot and the grooming was perfect. Nice job and nice to be off the road.

We rode Cabot and groton area from St J. on thursday and they where all great except the rail trail from ST Johnsbury towords Cabot, that was beat . Actucally all 3 days we where there the rail trail sucked. We had never ridden this area and I have to say it some geat trails, views etc.
Also have to say great job to the groomers in the Cabot, Groton, Lyndonville Danville, IP areas. Just wish who ever grooms the lamole rail trail had as I'm shure it a nice ride when it groomed.

I rode Cabot sunday at 4:00 pm, trails were as good as anybodies at that time of the weekend. It seems they have gotten control of the problems. Good job and thanks, Skylighters.

I've been riding the trails in Cabot a lot lately and have enjoyed them. They are very narrow (in spots) but well groomed lately. Nice job to the volunteers

Thank you for the kinds words, everyone!
This winter has been a very difficult one for our club, taking on a groomer is no easy task and learning to drive one with skill is even more trying...not to mention the timing issue! Luke graciously agreed to not only take on the job of mentor to the grooming team but also has now taken on the job of trail master! In fact nearly the entire board has now turned over...the club held elections on Feb 26th...the group of us who made up the board previously were simply burnt out....but this community is fantastically resilient and a new group stepped up to the plate! I am sure they will bring some new life and energy to the club...and those of us who stepped down can act as the mentors for a while...Thank you for your patience with us this season and we hope to do you all justice in snowmobile seasons to come!
