Probably no lemon law. However, I am looking into a CLASS-ACTION suit, regarding my Machz, ( 1000 SDI ) same engine as your friend's. If your friend is interested, let me know, if he wants to be a CLASS MEMBER. I am trying to locate an attorney who specializes in these cases, not just any attorney can handle them. IF you know anyone else who has a 2005-07 MachZ, and is as ballistic as I am with this $11,000.00 ticking time bomb LEMON, let me know. BRP did not even answer my letter regarding these
problems. I went crazy on DOO-TALK a week ago, I was so angry at BRP for continuing to sell a sled that they knew was
problematic. Why do you think it was dis-continued?

Not all Mach Z's are "ticking time bombs". Many Mach owners love their sleds, as do I, and wouldn't trade em for anything!!!

Well that's simple enough! If and when you get a notification from a Federal District Court, that you are a CLASS MEMBER against
BRP International, just opt out, or throw it in the trash, ........easy enough! If you like them so much, how much will you give me for mine? Showroom 2007, 580 easy, never raced, never beaten, never abused miles. Should I consider it sold????

CrazyBill
If i could ride two at the same time, I would have kept my 05 I sold this past fall. It now has over 8000 miles and the guy who bought it hasn't had a problem with it. Like the guy on DooTalk said..... That Stabilt isn't good for em. But thats BRP's fault too, right? All that I've seen is you had a fuel pump failure. So why are you so pissed?

Because the fuel pumps have a high rate of failure. The failing fuel pumps can, and do lead to complete catastrophic engine failure
because of a super-lean fuel ratio. The air filtering system is also deficient. Owners are finding large amounts of kevlar belt fabric in
their air intakes, forcing some owners to fashion their own filtering systems! Now, these people might all be lying, but personally I
not only believe many of them, but I also think some of them are probably more knowledgeable than the vast majority of dealership technicians. O.K., so how much for mine? Should I load it tonight and meet you halfway?????

P.S. Bring cash

I may be dumb or something, but why don't you just fix the issues yourself. I would think since you have been riding since 1986 you would have some kind of knowledge on how to work on a sled. The fuel pump is not hard to do and the uni filter install isn't either. Why don't you act like you are 60 years old and not like you are 10. Here's a suggestion for you to research for the lawyer you make rich. Everytime you see a Mach or Gade 1000, go look him/her up and see if they have had any problems with their sled. Then ask them if they have ever heard of Hardcoresledder or DooTalk. You will be surprised how many people don't even know about these websites and have zero trouble with their 1000s. I found that 1 out of 5 had heard of DooTalk. Out of that, only half of them are members. So that leaves 10% of the 1000 owners are on DooTalk (1 out of 5 is 20%, cut that in half+ 10%). Looking through the Mach forum on DooTalk (there are way more people there, than here) not even half of the owners have problems. And if they have had problems, warranty (you fall here mach-z-not) took care of them.

So to sum up, know your fact before you go ranting like you know something when that is not the case.
And no, I do not want your sled, because I already have one.

Well Mr. Bill, if I wanted to work on a snowmobile, lifting the engine to change the low pressure pump, filters and all the other junk you talk about, I would have bought a used sled for $2000.00, not a new sled for $11,000.00. The fact that I rode for two seasons
in 1986/87 does not equate to my being a BRP certified technician, that can repair a computerized, hyper- complicated machine.
You seem to be missing something here, or you know exactly what you are doing. My postings are for owners who dislike their machzs, and want to do something about it. If you like them, keep it to yourself, and opt-out of any court action if it comes. The fact that you continually try to defend BRP, and deflect criticism aweay from them, makes me suspect you of being a " ringer " for
BRP. Are you an employee of BRP, or associated with them in ANY way??? If you knew what you were talking about you would know that during discovery, all the failures of the mach z will have to be disclosed. If they are as great a machine as you say, then no problem for BRP, case closed. If however, they did in fact have a high failure rate, then they would have to settle, or get a judgement against them. You can try all you want, you won't deter me one iota from pursuing this. You, in my opinion have a
hidden agenda to defend BRP. You might influence some people here, but I'm not one of them.

BRP made a bundle on me, (Mach z $11,000.00, 2007 Can Am 800 $9500.00 ) both had problems.
But thanks anyway.

5-6 weeks waiting on a fuel pump is a bogus claim IMO. I am not saying my mach is perfect but it sure does put a grin on my face when I squeeze the flipper! As far as the lp pump, yeah I had one installed which by the way was available locally at 3 diff part stores for a cost of $41 and 2 hrs labor. BFD!!! If you have been waiting all that time to get your sled back you have got no one to blame but yourself.
CrazyBill
couldn't have said it better myself. Maybe when they start making sleds that fix themselves you can buy one of those machznot wtf.gif

Hey, this is real simple. If you are happy with your mach, good for you, you can ride happily into the sunset. But for those of us that aren't, we are going to try to do something about it. If you don't want anything to do with it, just stay out of it. As far as me being to blame, you just don't get it. It does not matter if you can repair them, and I can't. It does not matter if you are younger than me, and can outfix, and outride me. It does not matter if I got taken by the service department. All that matters is whether or not BRP
marketed a machine that has a high rate of failure, to the detriment of the collective owners. Do you get this concept? If not I'll
try to explain it further.

People like you are just giving me more of an incentive to pursue this. If you think it's detering me, you're wrong. The fact that you are arguing something that does not concern you, is suspect. Do you have any association to BRP, Ski-doo, in any way?
CrazyBill
You can't expect to go to a forum, bash that sled and expect people not to get defensive. So let me get this right. You want to start a lawsuit because Doo sold sleds with fuel pumps that quit even though they fix em under warranty? I am obviously missing something.....

Firts off, I own $20,000.00 worth of BRP machinery, ( sled, Atv ) so do you think I'm a so-called basher? Yeah, that makes sense,
twenty grand of BRP in his garage, he must be a basher! Why are you so defensive?

I never said I want to sue because they sold sleds with fuel pumps that went bad, and were fixed under warranty. I said I wanted to sue because they appear to have an EXTREMELY HIGH rate of pump failures. They also seem to have a HIGH number of
catastrophic engine failures due to the fuel pumps failing, causing a super-lean fuel ratio, which in turn may be causing the
engine meltdowns. From the various inputs on these sites, it appears that a 2005-07 mach z is going to fail, sooner or later, it's
going to fail. I can't give mine away to any local dealers, none will take it on trade. Why is that? They all must know about it's reputation for self-destruction. So, basically I've got an $11,000.00 lemon time bomb in my garage, waiting to detonate.

Why didn't BRP respond to my letter? All they had to do was recite the failure rate of 05-07 machs. If it was low, I would not have a leg to stand on, but they didn't even respond.

Why do you get so hyped about this situation, when it does not concern you? You must work at a Ski-Doo dealership. If you like your mach so much, why don't you bring it into the house, and put it in front of the TV, and rest your beer and pizza on it. Get a rag with Armour-All on it, and you can rub it down during commercials.

xcr5
I will say this - I've been talking to a lot of guys with 07 X's (love the look of the sled) I think I've talked to at least 6 - 8 owners and all but one have had their fuel pumps fail in less then 1000 mi on their 07's. Mine was replaced under a recent update and hasn't failed yet - but I sure understand this guys frustration when you buy a brand new ride and the thing goes down and you find out it's a common theme..

I know every ride I'm on with mine I have my fingers crossed that I'll get home...

My opinion is that you are full of shit. I never said I could out do you on anything EXCEPT the ability to take the bull by the horns and get my sled up and running in 1 day which tells me you surely don't have what it takes to win a class action suit that would require a much greater ability to problem solve.

Well you tell me smartass, what you would have done when the dealer tells you he is waiting for parts, has trouble getting qualified help, and is running with a short crew? Would you go and threaten him, punch him, what would you do? My machine was almost new, still under warranty. Who else was supposed to fix it, you idiot. I couldn't have fixed that sled if my life depended on it, that's why I bought a new sled, Dumbo! You're so stupid, you can't see that this is not about MY sled, and how bad I am, but the failure
rate of 2005-07 Mach Zs. For you to get so irate at this leads me to believe you have a connection to BRP/Ski-Doo. Are you connected to BRP/Ski-Doo in any way? 02/02/08 Dealer said machine was out of gas, all set. I went back to dealer's and picked machine up. Brought machine home,
dying again. Called dealer again, late Sat. afternoon, could not bring back until Tuesday. ( They are closed Sun., Mon.)

02/06/08 Tried to call service, no answer. Got ahold of service, said all set. Go back to dealer, start machine in lot, dying out
again. Service calls BRP, they ask why I let it idle for 5 minutes. They bring it back in, say they will try to figure out the
problem. Service gives me $100.00 gift certificate for my gas, trouble.

02/28/08 Test ran it again. Seemed to run good, crazy fast.

So there punk, you made me spend over an hour compiling this from my calendar. But I will need it done up like this anyway, for my lawsuit! I wish I could name you as a defendant, so I could get a judgement against you, and get your mobile home with its
polyester curtains, and redwood deck. We could use it for our hunting, and ATVing. You called me a liar, now go take a shit in
your barn hat, and pull it over your ears!
Just reaffirms my belief that your an angry little man! You can call me whatever but trashing farmers and my doublewide goes over the edge. Name the dealer so he can defend himself, especially with all the shit you've slung about his service dept.

This sport has come a long way and so have the machines, not like it used to be ride for a day, then had to wrench for a week to ride another day etc., I noticed now, a lot of people can't even change a belt, or even know how to change plugs. Just because you pay a lot for a sled doesn't mean it will never have a problem, I hate guys that are so quick to sue everyone!!! It's a two stroke, frustrating I know, all part of the sport!! Leave the farmers alone, we are the backbone of the country, not everyone can be a white collar, high and mighty, materialistic person! Living in a big plush house,, just remember, guys like us buit your house, etc.

Just reaffirms my belief that you are some goof at a computer, who probably spends his time trying to aggravate great people like myself, instead of riding his snowmobile. I already stated on DOOTALK why I would not reveal the dealer, you go and find it, it's there under MachZs, back a few weeks. Can you do that after you're done shoveling out the barn? Oh yeah, and don't track the cowshit into the trailer!

Have you ever been sued? Now tell us the truth. Why would you be pissed at someone for seeking justice? If someone smashed into your family member while they were driving, and injured them for life, would you sue then?? Well, would you?? Fixing a computerized two stroke is not part of the sport. In fact if you knew what the hell you were talking about, you would know that
the Machz has some kind of goddamn BUDS system, that only the dealer can hook up. When BRP got my $11,000.00.00, they never said , " Oh, by the way, this machine is probably 'gonna shit the bed in a few months, with a lousy fuel pump, if you're lucky, and the engine does not melt down. Then you 'gotta learn how to lift the engine, replace the junk fuel pump, and hope you don't have to walk ten miles out of the woods again, with a flame-broiled engine."

Well here's the joke on you, I also was a farmer! I love the farm. I have more Jonsered's saws here than most dealers. I cut wood
every chance I can, and people freak out how much they like my wood piles, and my place. I just don't like farmers from Vermont that call me a liar.
G'ville! Is that Greenville, Maine.!! I wish I could come up there and catch all your brook trout, and eat them. I also wish I could
shoot a 320 lb. buck up there, and just ride around your town all day with the buck propped up in the back of my truck, with out
of state plates!

I think the fumes from the International Speedway have deteriorated your mental state. Your spelling is that of about fifth grade level! Go back, and get your G.E.D., then we can discuss, PRODUCT LIABILTY LAW, CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW, and CLASS-ACTION LAW. Until then I suggest, you make an appointment with a neurologist in Concord, to try and diagnose your impaired
mental capacity, or QUIT SMOKING MARY JANE IN THE WOODS!!!

If you aren't connected to BRP, then why do you give a shit that some of us want to sue them? There has to be a reason you get so bent out of shape. What happened, did you slip on some cowshit today and hit your head? I did take the advice of many on DOOTALK regarding how to fix my machine. What is your REAL reason for defending BRP? Come on tell us, why do you give a shit what some of us might do? Now you are making me waste more of my time responding to a punkass like you. You have a hidden agenda, tell us what it is!!! Here's the six weeks, GOOF-BOY. Now go scrape the cowshit off your boots.

01/17/08 5:00 P.M. Dropped Mach off for factory recommended service, also to install pin update. Original drop-off date was
supposed to be 01/18/08, but an ice-storm was forecast for our area, so I called to drop it off one day early.

1600 miles on mine, and I am the third owner. Not even soo much as a hiccup has gone wrong. Excellent fuel mileage, sips oil, and other that being front end heavy, this sled is nothing short of being perfect. this is my first doo, and I have a buddy who works for Doo. The biggest problem with engine troubles in this sport is people don't let their sleds warm up properly. Look at all the people who bashed F-7's? I suppose those are junk too? If you are truely that un-happy, make the dealer help you get out of it.
