This year for the first time in 15 or so years I opted to pass on buying a new sled. With winters in Upstate New York leaving something to be desired, time constraints, and kids etc. etc. Needlesstosay, I have been fortunet to have some great friends that have been lending me their secondary sleds. As a result I have accummulated over 600 miles and had a great time doing so. Well to make a long story short, Yesterday, I got a bug up my ass, and decided to pull the trigger on a 08' Phazer RTX. Normally I wouldn't even consider a new sled this time of year but I figured if I could get a four banger for a decent price (don't really want to invest a big wad of $$$$ with the shitty winters) I'll try it. My question to all of you Phazer diehards: Can a Phazer RTX cart my 225 lbs. around without a struggle. At this stage in my life, I'm primarily looking for a ditch banger/rough trail sled. I'm mostly concerned with 0-70mph range. Did I just buy a ladies sled? My second question: After reading a few post....did I just buy a pile of poo??? Thanks for all comments and opinions.

Congrats on your new sled!! You'll read alot of positive things and alot of negative things about the Phazers. Im sure you got at least a year warranty with your sled so I say just ride it and dont worry about what you read, just face any problems if or when they come about. How are you gonna have fun if you're looking for problems?? One thing for sure though, close in the back hole in the tunnel and go out and ride the damn thing and have fun.

Just out of curiousity what type of adjustments did you make? Might get me pointed in the right direction.
Does anybody have the Fox Floats? If so whats a good psi for rough trail? Thanks

Hey need speed if you like ditches then you will love this thing, I'm only 160 pounds so heres my setup on my '08 RTX .I use 65# in the fox floats so I can still hit stuff hard and also have good cornering, in the skid I set the rear spring to hard because I jump alot of ditches in the middle and I would set the middle spring to your weight but no more so you don't stress the shock linkage to much. And the rear shock I added a couple clicks cuz I like to hit the moguls at 70. It definetly takes a little suspension tuning but most sleds do enjoy!

I just rolled 2100 miles yesterday, put 1300 miles on it in last week. I had to put a set of plugs in it thrusday night after a couple of crazy codes came up and yesterday the starter went out. This is the first time it left me stranded in the middle of no where, but after the fact I was told you can start them off the clutch. Great sled I am 230, depending on trail conditions it maxs out 75-85. I am still working on the temp light. 6 days of riding and 4 days the light came on several times. MPG is great, Acceleration is good to 60, suspension is great ( broken link yet), fun in the powder only braid it bad a few times. For the $$$$ it is well worth it.

a 4 banger is a four CYCLINDER, not a 4 stroke.. at least thats how it is in the car industry

Just curious, how long did it take you to change the spark plugs?
