Speaking of karma,

I need to run to the store to get some things, so when I leave the house it pops into my little mind to head over and check on a section of our trail that the snow fence never seems to stay put and blows across the trail. We don't have rideable snow at this time, but it's in the forecast. I drive up and as I turn onto the road with the snow fence I notice a car sitting on the side of the road just past my turn. I go about my business of removing the snow fence from across the trail, notice that both stop signs have been stolen (again), and then I jump back in the jeep to head home. Then I notice that the car is still sitting there (about 15 minutes had passed ). So I pulled up and parked in front of him and notice that this older man has a flat tire. When I get out he asks me if I have a cell phone so he can call his son to change his tire. Of course I say "I'll change it for ya." While I'm changing his tire I make small talk about why I was out and that I was working on the snowmobile trail. He says "The trail goes through my property." Huh. Then he says "I've had problems in the past with the trail and how the DNR took care of me." At this point I'm thinking to myself "Holy Cow! This is the land owner who gave us fits the last two years and threatened to close the trail because the state never sent him his money!" So I get done with the tire and start talking to the guy about the trail. I told him that I was taking over the section of trail that goes through his property and that if he ever has any problems to call me right away. He thanked me for changing the tire and tried to give me some money, then he said "I'm guessing I won't be having anymore problems with the club or trail. I'm glad we met. I'll see you when I sign next year's lease."

"I'll see you when I sign next years lease." Every fall we wonder if this guy will let us through again. I guess I got that question answered early this year!

I believe in karma too, but I never expected it to come back immediately!
