Full Version: 04 MC 570: Slight Vibe when Accelerating

I have an 04 MC 570. I'm on my third drive shaft, bent #1 and cracked #2
(faulty). With the bent one, the sled would vibrate when going faster than
40mph (60kph). Before the second shaft cracked, it was vibrating as well, at
first slightly, but gradually got worse before cracking.

Anywho, the sled is vibrating again, but only slightly, and only when
accelerating above 40mph. If I maintain a speed of 50mph, the vibration is
gone and also is gone when slowing down/easing off the throttle. So it can't be the shaft this time because it would vibrate above 40mph regardless if I was continuing acceleration or maintaining a speed.

The installation of the last shaft saw new drivers, chain sprockets, etc. So
there are alot of new parts in this sled.

I was thinking it may be the belt, but I thought belt cause vibrations at
lower speeds. It happened to my Dad's 01 Panther 440.

Thanks for any help.

Brad,

Try a new belt....is this the same one you had on it when you cracked your shaft, if so, when the track locked, you could have "flatspotted" your belt.....

Hey Steve...was going to ask you this next time I saw you on MSN. Yea, got a new spare to try before next ride. Also going to check chain tension.

Its weird...accelerating from 60-80kph has the vibe, staying at 80kph or whatever speed, vibe is gone. I hope its the belt...my nerves are shot this winter dunno.gif haha
