Full Version: Any problems with ice/snow in intake?

I rode with a bunch of Yamaha 4 strokers this weekend and after running 20-30 miles in 3 feet of powder they had to stop every 5 miles or so and clean out the intake filters and use the exhaust to let the ice buildup melt. How does the FST Switchback intake work? Is it close to the same as my 07 2 stroke switchback?
(My current 07 switchy started to freeze up the carbs on this weekend)
I am just thinking of going to the 4 stroke camp

Are you using Isopropyl dry gas?

I rode a lot of deep powder this weekend. I think the FST Switch is front end heavy, however I hear powder pro skis make a big difference. The stock skis don't float well and they kick up a lot of powder under the front belly pan which sprays out and covers the back of the sled. As for the intake I never get any snow, the radiator plugs up in deep snow though.
