I have a buddy that is considering trading his 06 switchback 900 for an 08 xfire 1000. He loves the xfires but we have 700's. He wants the 1000 and is wondering how it will compare at the pumps to our 700's.
thanks

Hard to find fault in the same mileage. I'm told the 700 doesn't pull the CF chassis like it does the Firecat...the 1000 is the engine of choice.

From what i have seen with the 3 700 xfire's that i ride with is it just doesnt have the top end that the f7 does. Stock for stock I would put money on the xfire being ahead untill 80 mph and then the f7 will or should pull by.

I just checked what my mileage was from the week-end it worked out to 14.5 MPG.....this is the 800 though and not the 1000.

IF properly tuned the 1000 should actually have better mileage than the 700 when running trail. It takes less throttle to maintain speed but wack it open alot and it drops quickly. My cf7 is very good on gas and the 1000 is about the same but has not been tuned in yet. Should see soon.

Stock my CF1000 was 14-15 avg. with an alltime best of 17mpg.
Now with a pipe, boondocker, and clutching I have just got it back to the same mileage.
I am taking it slow so as NOT to have the engine lay an EGG!!!!!!!!!!!
