We (me double up on my Rev) and 4 friends rode from the Rumney Rest area.
Because of the impending snow storm in Southern NH we decided not to drive the
extra hour + up North. That would have meant comming home LATER during the storm.
It turned out to be a WISE decision. Even tho we still did get caught in the storm on the
ride home and saw atleast 5 wrecks (a few filp overs). Buy the time I got home there
was 3" and only a few hours later ANOTHER 6+ !
Now for the ride ......
The conditions in the BRV/Rumney area are unfrigging believeable !
We left Rumney at 10am and went North on Corr.8 to Corr.5 to the ROCKET in Warren.
Came back Corr.5 to the Nicholas Hill Trial (Senic Loop) back to Corr.5.
Buy this time it was snowing UNREAL ! On top of wicked flat smooth trails there now
was 6+ inches of NEW snow on top ! Even caught up to the BRV groomer and
TWO Fish cops. They we all talking and the 2 cops were even VERY pleasent.
Talked to then and then they went on there way. We continued down Corr.5 in
a BLIZZARD and I couldn't even see. The guys behind me said if it wasn't for
Kendra's PINK jacket (my co-pilot) they wouldn't been able to see where to go.
I totally screwed up (depends on how you look at it) going down Corr.5
I took a WRONG turn at junction #31 and we ended up doing the Little Rocky Loop.
It was not that the trail sucked BUT Kendra was getting cold and I wanted to get
back to the truck A.S.A.P. We double tracked BACK down Corr.5 and made the right
turn at #31 the next time. We followed Corr.5 to Trail #153 back to the trucks.
It was too bad cus we crossed my FAVORITE area (the Powerlines) and I so wanted
to take them all down them to the spot from last weeks ride BUT the snow was litterly
BLINDING at this point and visablity was almost non existant. Back to the trucks by
2pm and only (but a very good & smooth) 75 miles. Guys the trails up there are
TOTALLY AWESOME ! Definatly worth the ride .....
