Ditches were hard, but functional. KOA-K was good condition, only a couple of bare spots. Tried to take the Central Lakes north from Garfield, got just out of Garfield and the black top was showing through pretty good, so I turned around and headed SE on the Central Lakes. That was hard pack, but there was enough snow for the track to loosen up the snow and keep the sled cool. No black top showing though either. Wish I would of went north or turned around at that point and try a different route though, the Prairie was ok and the Ready Riders was the worst of any of the trails. Not terrible, but wish there was more snow. Everything is ridable, but tommorrow I think my wife and I are going to go north from Garfield and see how that is.
I attached a couple of pics. In one of them you can see a couple of deer on the left side of the pic. I seen a whole bunch in a cornfield, but couldn't get the camera out intime to catch all 30 of them run across the trail in front of me. That was cool, made the ride on the Ready Rider worth it.
Wasn't as good as my trips to Duluth and Bemidji, but I will take it! There were some spots on all the trails that were really good and a couple that weren't so good.
Will post a report tommorrow on what we find.
Here is a link to the DATA website so if you are from out of the area you can see what I am talking about. http://www.douglasareatrails.com/trail.cfm
