How do I adjust the ski pressure on a 1995 summit 583 so that there is more pressure on the skis? How it's set up right now the skis lift up all the time. Makes it hard turning and almost impossible to hill climb.
Thanks.

check out your limiter strap on the rear skid, located just ahead of the front shock, if its broken replaceit if its loose and still in tact there should be a knob, nut on a piece of threaded rod pointing down to the ground, tighteninig it will give you more ski pressure. maybe slack out the spring on the front shock a little as well..

When I push down at the rear of the sled the threaded rod doesn't seem like it has any tension to it. It will move. With the rear of the sled compressed the threaded rod is still loose to the touch. Is there a spring inside that little housing? Also the coil spring over the skis are at the lowest setting for tension. If I adjusted those up compressing the spring more would that put more pressure on the skis or less?
Thanks.

Lowest ( slackest) spring settings on the front skis applies the most pressure...I always run mine on the least tension setting

Sounds like thats what you have yours set at so I would check the limiter strap and set it the way it comes from the factory and work from there...

If you want the front to stay down, ( a big plus in the snow) try running the rear very stiff, and the front soft, so it sits very high in the rear.
Tighten your limiter strap to reduce weight transfer. With that and the preload high, as well as the front soft it will corner well, but will spin more, and be more easily bottomed in the front on jumps.
This will also make it go through the snow better.
Hope this helps. Happy sledding!!
