Right now i got a 1991 polaris indy 440, and I love the 440's cause they are small and light, Next year I would like to buy a Polaris Pro-x 440 but put a 600 engine into it, 136'' track, 3in bar risers, Tag bars, V force 3 reeds, K&N's, and somkind of trail freindly pipe and can.
any suggestions on my build? anything i should watch out for?
Looking at somthing like this 2002 pro-x 440

why not just buy a prox600... work is already done for ya... much less headaches to buy the way... and fwiw - the 7/800 are only about 8-10lbs heavier...

the 440 decal doesnt make then lighter or stronger , Bonz is correct but if you dont have a sled start with a 2003 or newer prox .chances are you can find a 2003 retired race sled with a 600 in it for under 2500.00 that needs nothing but gas .
