I'm working on clutching my M6 for flatland use (where I mostly ride), so far I found it pulling hardest with Max RPM set around 7900 rpms.

What is everyone else clutching their M6 for?????

Thanks

I run 63g for 9-11000 feet. For flatland (0-2000) I'm running Dalton 72g

did you ever try the lighter ones at low elevation?im just wondering how much of a difference there will be when i put mine in,if i even get them this year, with my luck ill get them the day i park the sled

I did run the Mtn clutching for a day or so when I got back from Cooke....lets just say it REALLY liked to rev up!!!!

But back to the topic......

TTT Dono????

ill be watching this one as i am on the same mission. i just went out today with the stock 6-9000 ft and im at about 800 ft and like you said it sure revs fast. but i kinda liked it today as when you are boondockin and you need it right now its there. instant. but, i have ordered a 44/40 helix, shift assist, and a orange cat spring for the secondary. my buddy has a 07 f6 and i noticed his clutching is just what i am trying to do. and im not sure i like the way his pulls. oh well ill try it out.
like i said i kinda like that fast revving little beast.

Boondockin I prefer the power to not hammer in so I dont trench!!!! But on hard pack the light weights make it fun.....but slower!

TTT anybody???

Ok where is the peak Hp for the 600 laydown motors???? Anybody have a dyno graph?

i would run the heaviest weights you can get away with to achieve proper rpm... dont want to over rev at all. excess belt heat. if your secondary is working properly you will have instant rpm when you hit the throttle in the powder.

check this site out... it shows for m6 70 gram Cat weights and a 46/40 Cat helix for 0-3000 ft.

you could use the stock 36 helix but you will probably need more weight on the flats.

I fully realize this.....that is why I'm curious about where Max hp is made...

Right now I'm running 48-38 EPI helix that I can pull pretty well. I think I will be putting in my Dalton 72's but I want to know what RPM I should use as a target.

from reading some old posts it looks like it should rev 7900-8000 rpm... no lower than 7900 to make power.

Ok thanks man!!!

There was a F-6 dyno posted a yr or two ago.
Max hp was with-in 1 hp between 7600 & 7900, anything after that power dropped off.
Makes for easy clutching explains why some guys can run 7600 & still be fast.
Personally I would try to clutch your motor to hit about 7,700 initially & slowly climb to 7,900 on a long run.
