I'm going to longtrack my 98 XC 6 to 136. Don't know which way would be better. Buying a used RMK/SKS skid, or installing rail extensions. If I install a skid from an RMK/SKS would the shocks from my 121" susp. work? What would be the best way to go?

Thanks

The shocks from the 121 will fit an Xtra 10 136 suspension but,not an Xtra-lite susp. The swap is easy I just did it to my 99'xc.The Rmk rack rides alot nicer than the 121 w/ext. I've had both. The rail ext. I've seen quite a few 136 Xtra 10's on Ebay lately.I can even give you the measurements for installing the 136 rack. Good luck

odd, I have both a 121-136 extention and a 136 skid, cant tell much of a difference in the ride.

i do believe if you change the whole skid you need new rear mounting holes

Yes you do, you need to mesure mounting locations from a sled that originally had a 136, and use that same distence when mounting the rear skid in your sled. if you use extensions on a 121 skid you use the same mounting location unless you put in some drop brackets, then you need to remessure and make sure its the same as the original distance.
