which one? I want something that's going to hook up on and off trail, especially off trail because I like to ditch bang.
Any advice is appreciated.
thanks.

Assuming no studs the Predator is slightly better on hard packed trails because of the 'cones' which allow it to catch the uneven surface. Most tracks have lugs that are the same height all the way across which rides on the highest part of the surface, and slides around easily. If you don't ride hard packed trails (read frozen) or you are going to stud it go with the Ripsaw, you'll like it better for off the trail riding.

Not sure if it's the best track. But next season I'm going to run what the 440X Rev's come with. 1 3/4 and maybe some Studs. Only thing is I never race, I only ditch bang and have fun on Trails. Maybe it's not the best selection. But who knows ! dunno.gif

Right now I have the Ripsaw 1.25 Track. It hooks well but not on hard packed trails.

If you are talking about the 9818 (Camoplast Predator 1.25") vs. the 9921 (RipSaw), I would say this:

Deep Snow : 9818 a little better than the Ripsaw.
Typical Loose Snow on Trail/trail "slop": Ripsaw better
Ice: Both suck w/out studs, but slight advantage to the Ripsaw.
Hardpack Trails: Ripsaw slightly better. Both hook up good.

For ditchbanging, probably the 9818 will be slightly better than the Ripsaw. The 9818 is the track of choice for the snowcross racers, if that tells you anything. Although I have been starting to see a few snowcross sleds here and there with the Ripsaw tracks on them.

I have the 9818 on my 97 Mach 1, and love it. Friends of mine have the 9921 or 9818 on their sleds.

C302, I would advise against 1 3/4" track for trails my old sled had one and I kept ripping off lugs. It was sweet for off trail though. I could dig to china.

Studding a 1.75 track dunno.gif I'm sure it can be done but why dunno.gif
A 1.25 track with studs should hook up for you. I do not think studs on
a 1.75 track will do what you are looking for and you probably will just
bend and/or throw some of those studs through the heat exchanger.

I have a 1.75 track and it hooks up great off trails and packed snow with
out studs. :div20: But on ice and icey trails it bites censored.gif Next season
I am switching to a Predator 1.25 track with either 96 or 144 studs :div20: which
should give me the best of both worlds, i.e., off trail, trails and icey stuff :div20:
