hey guys... ive got like 1800 miles on my sled this year after putting the clutch kit in to bring it down to 7800 rpm and now today i was out riding and i couldnt get it to rev out past 7400.... i never had any open places to hold er over 60 mph... but i stopped on some ice and tried spinning it to see if it would hit 7800 but no it wouldnt. most i pulled was 7400.. just feels doggy in the powder too.. i had her to the bar in about 4feet of powder and it wouldnt go over like 35 mph
oh yea this is on a 07 crossfire 8

I would think maybe its a problem with your exaust valves.
Bopper
hope not... the cables were replaced in the fall before riding.. then when it was at the dealer half way through the season they were adjusted by the dealership and its been great since... they shouldnt fuck up a couple times a year should they?
Finner
Unless they didnt put the updated servo motor clip in...

k just talked to my dealer and he said valves as well... k so checked to see if the cables had come out of the clip... they have not.. good to go.. so whats my next step. how do adjust my cable... and what measurements should they be?
killerrf
i set mine to like 34mm. wasnt sure what the proper setting was but seems to work fine. but i think 34mm was what i set my f7 too so i just did the same on the m8.

You measure the cable ONLY....In between the end of the plastic sleeve and the nipple that fits into the slot on the servo motor.....Measurement should be 34.5 mm

Check to see if they are moving freely as well! Could be dirty and sticking if you are getting too much oil.

k so if these cables are the same length is it time to open the valves up and clean them? should i order a new gasket before i even open them up? or can they be re used

Only if they are stuck, pull each cable once you got them off the servo motor and see if the move freely. if they dont then you have to open them up. The gaskets can be used over also.

One way to tell if they are opening is to put your sled on a jack stand, make sure the servo cover is off, and rev the motor up, at 6500 to 7000 rpms is when they should open.

You can also take them off the servo and pull on them. you will nkow right away if they are stuck. You will hear them click back into place and feel them open. At your mileage I would do them just to keep them clean.

fixed... cables were stretched to like 36mm.. tightened them down to 33 so if they stretch a bit, theyll be perfect... but it goes like a raped ape again.. thanks alot guys
