While heading west on trail 58 this morning we came across a large section that is closed around East Charleston and rerouted up on the road. The section is closed from the last road crossing heading west to intersection OS16. Not sure if this is the result of the rain this weekend or a land owner issue.

Hmm, was in that area last week, and I do remember some road riding, not sure if it was that spot or not.

We rode it Sunday afternoon and it was open. It's all feild and my thinking is its a water issue from the rain Monday.

SnowCrazed, those trail conditions look thin thin thin..... Hows the riding up there? Looks like if you
went down that iced up trail, you would need a set of hyfax.

I heard this past weekend was great up there. Did this past rain kill much, or what?

I'm saying the closure on 58 is a water issue. Even with the addition of a couple of new bridges they built over some small streams, there are some low lying area that collect a lot of water. At the beginning of the year I hit a washout not too far from where that picture was taken, it was so deep that it sent me 20' from my sled, gave me a black eye, and broke my belly pan and one of my ski's. Needless to say, I'm not complaining about the detour. But where does the detour take you? does it bring you all the way over to robin's roost?
trailer58
58 does not take you to Robin's Roost, that is 5. Same thing happened on 58 in December after the rain then, the Clyde river probably overflowed.

detour is at the intersection of 5 and 58. you have to run the road all the way to the red barn and then it dumps you back in past the barn right at the hairpin turn

Monday's rain cost us about 150 miles. Sat to today we are at ~800.
