I have a 1988 yamaha 540 F/C engine out of a 88 vk540. The engine seized up so I tore it apart and the bearings are all seized due to water/rust. The crank looks good, so does the case. The cylinders are a little rusty, not bad mostly from sitting out. I was planing on junking this engine and putting a new engine in the sled but that's not turning out well. So now my plan is to re-build this engine. I want to get as much power as I can out of it so what would be the Cheapest way to go about this? Can you recommend any places to get performance parts?
Thanks for any info/suggestions.

I need the bearings but that shouldn't be a problem to get. Another thing I need is the reed cages. I'm just wondering if there is anything else I can do to it to get more power out of it while it's apart.
