has anyone installed a set of aftermarket handlebars on their phazer? i "tumbled" mine today, and need some new bars. i would like to go to an aluminum bar that will be stronger, and kill some of the vibrations. i have always liked pro-tapers, but i dont really want to raise them up anymore with an adapter.

where can i find a set of bars with a similar bend?

also, anyone have an extra lcd display for sale?

Click to view attachmentI just installed protaper bars on my phazer. It raised up about 1.5". I had to install a throttle extension in order for it to work, but I love the raise and the bars. The only down fall is aftermarket handwarmers and no bar hooks. Oh and it was sort of a pain to mount the hand guards. If you get protaper bars you'll see what I mean. And on a side note my hands got cold while riding so I put on a set of nytro hand guards it helped. I could also use the phazer mounts.

If you are a stand up rider move the pod to the front of the bars, just lower and it will survive rollovers. If its at the back of the bars it would hit my knees in a standing turn.

Busyfixin, I currently have on order a 7/8" Renthal Bar (actually for a Yamaha YFZ 450 Quad). The dimensions match closely to that of the stock Phazer handlebar dimensions. Check out Renthal.com and go under 7/8" bars. There is a bunch of different categories. I basically searched through all the bars until I found one that had similar dimensions to my bar. The rise is approxmately 1" higher than stock, the clamping distance is slightly narrower (~3/4"). Overall width is slightly wider but I will simply trim them down. I will let you know how it fits!

that sounds pretty good, i thought the bars were pretty similar to my yfz's bars, but i dont know where to find the stock phazer dimensions.

phazer, those look good, but might be a little tall for me, i dont need them any higher, and i dont want to buy the cable extension if i dont have too. im familiar with pro-tapers, but ive always used the "fat bar" style, without the crossbrace, but to adapt to the fat clamps, you usually get about a 1" rise.

i guess ill just have to pour over the bar dimensions. coffee-n-news.gif

as for the relocation, ill probably just lower it in the front, as i normally spend a lot of time in the stand up position. (i ride the powerlines alot, and play around jumping) however, it doesnt much matter, as i cant keep the rear susp from bottoming out all the time. i wish this "technologically advanced" suspension worked (and held up) as well as my hydraulic shocked supersport.

Hey Busy, I now have the Renthal Bars installed on my Phazer. They fit awesome. Even with leaving the Renthal bars at full width (31in. vs. Factory of ~29in.) I did not have to do any funky cable routing or extending, though the throttle cable does run down the side of my riser block now! I'll see what I can do about getting some pictures. Hope this helps!!!

Phazer,

What did you install for a throttle extension i.e. Brand, Model, Supplier? Need some help here as the Renthal Bars I currently have installed are putting a little too much tension on the throttle cable in a hard right hand turn. It's to the point that it is activating the T.O.R.S. and causing knarly hesitation!

I'd appreciate your help on this!
