Rode 130 miles today out of lunenburg, up to stannard mountain, a few loops and returned. Trails are ROCK HARD!! Valley locations were better by noonish as traffic (not much) and sunshine loosened up the concrete a bit. The pipeline this morning was as hard as a laketop, with very little if any loose snow for lube or cooling, but we never did have any over heating problems. A few sleds must have been out yesterday, and where they left ski marks, they are now solid grooves cast into the concrete, get your ski into one, and your in it for a while, it was a fight for quite a bit of the ride today, with the sled tossng you around like a rag doll, this even with my straight line trackers and spoons on the xc. Walden wasa being groomed today, they grommed the pipeline last night, and the powerline north of the balls was groomed today at some point. The rain did very little damage to our snowpack, but it is a bullet proof coating right now,. we really could use a few inches of fluff. Friday might provide that. Not many sleds seen today, I was surprised at` this,..but I think Im finally getting tired of snowmobiling,..I never thought I would say that, ..I need a week off,...he, get out and enjoy the trails, they are as flat as ever, but hard!

We did 125 today out of IP central today. Headed north over to Colebrook for breakfast, out to Norton, down the powerline, trail 1 and back up yellow bucket and 142. Almost everything had been groomed over night and we were laying first scratches all over the place. As serbie said the trails were like concreat but after a few suspension adjustments for the conditions it was very good.

I'm done with the yellow bucket trail for the year cuz I can't take the long logging stretch.

when the groomer hits the trails do they loosen up so you can cool your slides????

groomers are only scratching out chunks of ice, not really grooming, but they are attempting to get any bumps out, the only cooling you have, is from studded tracks picking away at the concrete surface, its providing a little ice pellet type of stuff so you get something up into the tunnel. The pipeline north of the balls was groomed, but we didnt ride it, we`were headed south.
