Depends on the condition... I own a 01 MXZ X 800 and love it! So much, I bought an 02 MXZ 800. They both go fast, and handle like Ferrari's!

How many miles?
Any mods, upgrades?

If this sled has less than 5000 miles and has not been wrecked... check the engine and then if all is ok, jump on it

1200??? That is cheap, very cheap!! If it runs, I'de say you stole it!! You can't even buy a motor, ignition and carbs for that cheap!!! I had one and loved it, it handled good and wa fast, they had a recall or an update done on the pistons, other than that loved mine!!
MXZ - X 800
I just did a search in my area for a O1 MXZ 800 and they range from $1600 with almost 8000 miles to $3900 with 900 miles on them. I am not sure where you live, but that is a great price if the sled is in decent to good condition.

Does anyone know the rough horsepower estimation for these sleds? Stock of course.
zippars02mxz800sp
around 135hp.

Ok thanks.

Yes that is very cheap, very, very cheap. As long as it's in good shape go for it. Throw a new track under it and possibly do the top end you have an awesome sled. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. Around here, that is a clean steal. Almost considered a scam. I just sold my Polaris crap, I'm riding yellow next season. Either I'll be getting a late model ZX 800 or early Rev 800, I'm hoping for an 04' MXZ. I guess we'll see what comes up at the time.

Great sled! I love mine! Just make sure that piston recall had been done - you can call any dealer with the VIN and they will tell you if this service had been done. I haven't had a single problem with mine at all.

Just picked an 01 800 up with 1500 miles on her and love it!!!!!!! Traded for a bike project i had and was asking 2500 for the bike so i would say i bought mine for 2500 and still got a deal and a half!!!!!!! Rides ,handles, accelerates like a dream. The only thing im concerned about is the recoil doesnt retract properly and seems like it takes 5 pulls hot or cold to start and as it starts sloooooowly gains rpms. So what was this update about? Sorry to jump on yer thread but figured it was the right place to ask.

And where does a 16year old get 1200 bucks???? Ahhhhh nevermind just giving ya grief!!!!

I just bought a 2001 MXZ800 X with 2800 miles. I got it for $2000 and according to KBB that is less than trade in for the sled. I have noticed the X series sleds do get a premium for the updates. From everything I have read this sled is supposed to handle great and be a real monster motor wise. Unfortunately I have to wait till next year now.

JUMP ON IT!!! I bought an 01 MXZ 800 at the beginning of this season for $1300 with about 4200 miles on it and I haven't stopped smiling since, plus all of my buddies are jealous too. The best 1300 I ever spent!!!!

I paid $2900 this Nov for my 02 800 Adrenaline. Way fast. It'll scare a smile on your face every time you grab the loud handle. Check the reed boots, make sure the recoil works, and in my opinion, get rid of the stock skis. Have fun!

Go for it. I picked up a 2002 Renegade 700 this past week and love it. All I need to do to mine is get new ski's, rebuildable shocks and a riser set up. The ZX sleds are wicked fun.

i bought my '02 800 a couple years ago mint with 3000km for $4000 and although i paid lots i got a great sled. i'm extremely happy with it. BTW, is the recoil a known issue? after a full day ride last winter we stopped near Kawagama lake and my recoil wouldnt "recoil". i kinda fed the rope back in and got it going and it hasnt done it again. anyone experience this?

Ya, doo can't make a reliable recoil to save their life!! roflmao.gif

I'm not quite sure what the issues are for the '02 Renegades yet. I went into my local dealer and asked if there were and recalls and all he had to say to me is "You'd be notified if there were any." So I'll be going to a dealer we've worked with before in the near future. I paid $3500 for my Renegade, and although it may be a bit high, that is about the going price around here (actually a little bit under; most '02's go for about $4000).

I only got about 76km on my Gade before the snow went. Now all this waiting for winter is going to kill me. It is a good thing I start working in about a week, it'll keep my mind on getting new parts.
