I have a 08 mxzx 800r and want to sell it to get a 600rs to race cross country, trail ride, and race 1 or 2 snocross races but I've been hearings that they are pieces of sh*t this year. Should I just wait and get a 09??

When a new race sled comes out, i would never expect not to have a couple problems. I wouldnt say they are peices of shizah. They just need a few kinks worked out. Just like the new 08 doo's

I would wait. Tey could possibly be changing the rear skid a little, Making it acceptable for sno-x racing and getting all of the bugs out. Wait and see.

just wondering if anyone thinks they with have a new stock 600 motor next year, cause i heard they were underpowered compared to the poos and cats, also how is the rs chassis holding up?

ok, im not trying to bash and trash here, i know im a cat guy, and you are propably going to hate this, but i race with a buddy of mine who has an '08 600 rs, and the chassis, well, its not holding up, and neither is anybody elses. the choice to go with a 1 ply track was a very bad idea, he has ripped 8 completel lugs off already this season. the running boards, we have bent his back up twice now, and they just keep bowing out in the middle. both of his side panels have just broken apart, he is on his 3rd set of handlebars and his second riser block, he has nose dove the sled countless times because if there is less than 2 gallons of gas in the tank the sled bogs out in the air, and the only way to check the gas in the sled is to dip a rope down in the filler neck. he is on his 2rd set of rails, the ends bowed out and twisted, causing the adjustment bolts to both bend straight up, allowing free movement of the rear axle, causing the sled to ratchet really bad, and studs to tag the front heat exchanger. last weekend he was having problems with his sled bogging because water was gettin in the air intake, which there is an update for. he didnt snap his cogshaft welds luckily, but we had to take that apart twice because he, nor did the dealer, have the right tool for the slipper gear. also, the running board bracing/footwell on the right side has broken twice now, he has to take that off again this week to have it re-welded back up. i think the only way they are going to be able to beef this sled up enough to hold up in '09 is to add about 50 lbs to the sled, and adding 50 lbs, well then its not going to be bearly as competitive. the power, its not too bad, but you could have all the power in the world and its not going to do you any good if your sled keeps breaking. im not speaking from what ive just heard here on the internet, this is personal experience, and he isnt the only one having problems, its everyone with these new ski-doos

ya, im not bashin skiddos, i would come into a skidoo to bash them, i think these sleds are sick, but i think ski-doo went more for lightweight and fast than durability, IMO!!!

i race cross country and can tell you they will not hold up like the cat or poo will. they just tried to cut to much to fast and sacfified quality for advertisment. stupid of you ask me. i know many snox guys that wnet back to there 07 revs becasue the 08's didnt hold up. hopefully in 09 they will see that it needs to be stronger.
IQ600cfi
yeah i believe every word, casue they have a 600rs at a local dealer and i jumped on the running boards, and they flex like no other, our trail revs and iqs dont even do that
snofevr083
ya, neither does my '04 when the running board supports are off
