I intend on racing some hillcross next month with my 80 srx. (660 feet up incline with 3 jumps.) My SRX has a Comet 108 on it with green/yellow spring and c-1 cam arms in it. Stock secondary clutch, and stock gearing. Engine is rebuilt to stock. Stock Mikuni Butterfly carbs properly tuned and jetted(260). Stock exhaust. Engine has 155 psi in both cylinders and pulls 9000 RPM immediately upon punching it. Tracked is reversed with 100 ice pick studs in it. It hits off the line at 4000 rpm with about as much force as my Grandma driving her Volkswagen. Ten feet out of the hole it yanks the skis off the ground and carries them for 60 feet. It tops out at 92 MPH. Any suggestions to improve launch would be appreciated.(proper cam arms and spring to make this sled hit like a sledge hammer off the line.)Any experience with AAEN trail or race pipes are of interest also. Thanks for any input.

Try to find a sec. from a 78 SRX... and cut the heads.. for 93 oct..they have low comp. Use a yamaha belt only. Gear up/80's have too it low .

how is 155lbs cranking low compression??? Gear up for a hill climb??? Old timer have you ever climbed anything? Dodgepants all you got to do is hit it and try and stay on that thing!
PS>Funny how everyone has an answer except for the question you ask... The comet websight has full spring and cam arm tuning info.
