Went up to Niles on Saturday instead of Buffalo Run trails, and I had a blast! Was first time ive got to rode the Apex, and first real sledding trip other then ditch banging in local fields on beater sleds. It was great fun time. The apex ran great, took some getting use to, wasn't likeing the engine breaking at first, but after the day i loved to like it hardly have to use the breaks. I hit 125mph on the dream meter on it once so who knows what actual speed it is. My friend took his artic cat 800 along and it ran great too. Sled were about even on speed I would be 5-10ft a head of him up to 100 then he start to pull the gap some. Then again i am 400lbs and hes 225. So would love to see how the apex would do with some one similar to his size on it. We unloaded at the M51 staging area and went north on 59, got gas and trail permits and maps at the Marthon station, then went and rode over to 12 and east and the south got lunch at Lindys then hit 59 to go back to staging area, got lost a few times trying to find staging area, and worried as the arctic cat was on E , but we made it back and i had just a lil less then half tank left!

Glad you had fun. My wife and I went and rode the niles trails last month for our first time. I hope they get some more snow again soon. I definately want to make a daytrip back there. I thought the trails there were great! We got lost a few times too. I think there were a few trails added that weren't on the trailmap.

yes a few trail on south wasnt on map, and marking back to m51 stagin area comming up north from 12 wasnt marked good, but after we turned around and headed back it was marked good, also the 4 flags trails was the best shape and well taken care of

This was the last year on the current map for the Fourflags trail system. All of the new loops around the staging area will be on next years maps. The maps go for 3 years then they make new ones. All of those loops in that area are new this year. I spoke with some of the other club members on Saturday and they added that next year they are hoping to add some new loops on the northern section. I was out Saturday with my son and we did 80 miles. Fourflags was having their cookout on the trail Saturday and we stopped and had hotdogs, hot chocolate and even a groomer ride. My son, who's 6, loved it.

how fast do you guys usally ride there? we was going between 40-50 and getting passed all the time,, was out first time out was taking it slow.

Also rode by the 4 flags cook out, they offered us food and drinks but the cat needed gas and we needed trail permits. So we didn't stick around

I think everyone rides differently. Some people ride slow and others ride fast.

that is about my normal speed. maybe a little faster. It all depends on who i am riding with and if i am leading a group.
