Not into strictly ice racing, but are those studs too long & bending over instead of digging in? Tall nuts? Was it a proven race pattern with appropriate scratch line spacing? Are they chisels?...do they face the right way? On the launch are you keeping good weight transfer...skis only a few inches off the ice instead of huge air? More track touching will = more hook-up. Pulling big wheelies puts all your power to a small surface area for less traction. Just throwing out some ideas. I have 192 1175's on a 1" hacksaw & it hooks awesome on ice & hardpack. Is your clutching too aggressive at the start...maybe lower the engagement & feather in the throttle on the start. Dunno man.

1 3/8 ice picks is what i put in, using 21 top and 38 bottom with a very good clutch system, engage at 4800

4800 is a little hot for ice, get it down to 4000.

How is your suspension set up?? You should not have a problem launching on ice with that set up. We had 192 carbide trail studs on a 9791 track with 1/2" penetration and launched quite good. Real hard ice may have been a problem with the cardide studs though. We never had a chance to try them with hard ice conditions..
