Going to burlington next weekend for the magic hat party. was wondering if there is any riding out of there. If not how far do you have to go to get to decent riding
Xeena
There is some riding from Essex (15-20 min from Burlington), you will encounter a few open brooks and a little bit of mud, but the groomer has been out.

You could start from parking area on Route 128 and head towards Cambridge

I would call conditions fair, in this area.
Just Ride
All the groomers are running in the area. The trails are more than fair. I'd call them very good. There are some water holes but the cold has helped a lot. There is parking in Hinesburg, Essex, and Colchester. Just get out and ride. Nice article on Chittenden County in the new Vast news.
