Good Morning All:
We have been asked to reopen Trail 1A which is the connector trail between Trail 3 and Trail 1. The section we will be reopening will be from Trail 3 (Yellow Bucket Trail) over to where it connects Trail 1 and then thru the big cut to the warming camp and then on to Trail 102. What we are looking for is help blazing the location of the trail along that route with a few experienced riders (paddle trackers) who know the trail well. We will be leaving Island Pond with the groomer tomorrow morning Feb. 14th at 6:00 AM and will be at the intersection of Trail 3 and 1A at approx. 8:30 AM. Any help would be much appreciated. Please note that we do not have permission to access Trail 1 from the radar road.
If you have questions or would like to help please PM me.

PS I rode yesterday and the trails everywhere were fantastic!! The VAST Trail System is the greatest!!!!!
Thanks

thumbsup.png I am so tickled, I love that trail and spent many a night in the camp. I wish that I was able to lend a hand, but I can't even get out of my own way at the moment. But I am sure you will do a sweet job. This is great news, and if there is anything I can do, give a shout. buttrock.gif

Does this mean the trail from the sign in camp down to the 6ft trails into west burke will be accessable again off the lower radar rd???? Or do we still have to go around by the pipe line?????????

Good Morning All,
We got it punched thru and groomed... took us 8hrs. What a beautiful day. Sparkling snow, bright blue sky, tons of moose, 4 + feet of snow......
What this means is that now you will again be able to take the shortcut from Trail 3 (Yellow Bucket Trail) over to the 1West trail. When you get on 1W you will not be able to turn right and go down to the radar road just out to Trail 102. As of Sunday nite all of the remaining 1E & 1W trail will be closed for the rest of the season. When you hit the radar road from Trail 3 you will only be able to turn right onto the East Haven trail system & at the intersection of Trail 1E and 102 you will be blocked from turning left and going on 1E. This is due to a large logging operation.
Let me know if you have questions.
Have a great weekend of riding. Conditions are fantastic!!

So does this mean that where we were riding trail 1 so far this year will be closed, and the part that was closed will be open? Till now, the northern section of the "loop" was closed, but we could get from 3 down to 102 through he southern part of 1.

As it turned out we were glad folks didn't show up on sleds because there were numerous places where there were 8'+ deep water bars where a snowmobile wouldn't be able to go. Our fear was we wouldn't be able to find the trail not that we would have problems getting thru. In any event the trail was obvious, it was a spectacular day and everything went well. Enjoy!

Gfool,
I was up there yesterday morning. It was one of the nicest rides I have had. Blue sky lots of snow! The trails were great to get there as well. A big thanks for the efforts of you and your team!

Thanks for your effort on opening that stretch - sure a ton of of snow up there, and your groomer must have felt very tired opening that section - we rode it twice this weekend and sure was GREAT ! THANKS again.
rdfan21
looking for a bit of clarification, I'm just a bit confused, if I come south on 3, can I still go East to intersect with 102? thanks.
SnowCrazed
