I want to buy a cheap old snowmobile that goes good in snow and has good gas mileage

There really weren't any long tracks in the 80's they were custom made. In the 90's the "long tracks" were 136". Maybe someone has a good idea for you but, I am stumped.

How about a ski doo elan or even an older oly. They go thru the snow like a polar bear and they get great mileage as well...There are tons of sleds that would fit your bill....Just thought I would suggest the ski doo for the popularity and affordability.

Ski doo Tundra 300cc fan cooled will go anywhere you can aim it.

I just have a hard time seeing those sleds as a "long track mountain sled" I'm so used to seeing 144"+ and high hp. Guess those old ones would work. If I were you I'd save the extra 1500 bucks and get something a little more current. Good luck.

I saw a johndeere liquifire swimming through the powder like a dolphin in the water once. Granted it was in a flat field and it had a 'Post-hole digger on it'(steel cleated track)

I second that. Fun little sleds. Not the greatest climbers, but they can boondock and float through feet of snow.
