A couple of us are planning to go to Muskegon on the 22-23 of this month. I am legal in Indiana with my bill of sale for now, but will that be acceptable in Michigan? I know I still have to buy a trail permit to be legal up North. Any help??

The friend that had it before me sent it in before I bought it. So all I have is a Bill of Sale. Indiana DNR website says its legal to use this for 31 days, I just need to know if thats going to be acceptable in Michigan.

The website says 31 days but they changed the law this year to 15 days!!!!
I have had trouble with the Indiana DNR this year...My dad and i both bought new sleds this year, sent our registration info and money and they claimed the registrations were "lost" in the mail. This Happend to both of us in the past month. I had to drive over 2 hours to Indy to pick up my registration because my original copy was lost in the mail. And after my dads checked had been cleared to the DNR for 20 days and hadn't still recieved his registration I got there number and ripped their asses all up and down and the overnighted them to him on monday night. We are headin up to indian river tonight so we had to get them somehow.
My brother in law registered a sled this year too and he sent a priority mail prepaid envelope with his registration money and info and they returned it to him in his prepaid envelope in 5 days. So if i was you man i would get on it QUICK! The people working down their are about as organized as a goup of monkey's f'n a football.
good luck man

It all depends on which CO you bump into and what kind of day he is having... I live right on trail 19 above the Red Barn,, probably the place you will be parking.. I can tell you that I have seen good honest sledders ticketed for way less then what you are talking about and I have also seen people get away with some pretty stupid pranks because the MAN was to lazy to get out of his truck...
If I were you I would go ahead and ride BUT I would not park at any of the trail heads up here,, they tend to be hunting grounds for the Green Coats.. If you drive past the Red Barn and keep going East on 46 you will come to small bar about 2 miles ahead.. They keep their lot plowed real well and you can load/unload right there.. Then just ride the side of 46 back west for less then a mile and the trail is on your left (sledding is legal on the road sides here..).. Your chances of bumping into our DNR is cut down about 95% by doing so,, at least down here in the Muskegon area anyway...
Other then all that,,, have a GREAT time up here!! We have over 2 feet of powder in the fields up here by my place and your coming up at the right time,, most people stop riding in February and its THE best time to ride here!!! Enjoy!!

Well, I had a blast this past weekend. Definetly something I want to do more of next year. My old Formula sure did beat me up though. I think I need to upgrade my suspension or upgrade to a Cat. Saw 4 or 5 doo's with hoods up and no Cats

. All in all it was an awesome trip.
