Hello, I have a couple off '76 SRXs, but the '77 was it's own. They were exactly the same except for 2 cut aways where the rear stablizer/bumper mounted. I may have the 8F2 belt too. FYI

The tail flaps are the worst damaged parts on the Yamahas. They get sucked into the track easily. Is anyone reproducing them because I would certainly be interested in getting a couple.

Anyone need a recoil for one? Used only 1 day.

Those are for GP/GS and are different than the SRX/GPX/EX flaps. They don't get sucked in by the track too often and they have more plastic material in them so they stay in nice shape. You should be looking for 1975-1980 GPX, Exciter, STX or SRX but even the nicest ones have been sucked up by the track and if it's studded... it's swiss cheese.
If it's not studded then there's usually 2 good, deep rub marks.

Put a piece of aluminum in behind the flap so it won't get sucked in. Then maybe you'll get bumped to the next class.

I think Steve was making a joke about John's rules that he has made up,who needs the 8F2 belts?,may have a box of them in the
stock room,wonder if Alan would help me with my carb settings if I came up with a couple belts?LOL, first time on here in awhile work had me cut off the internet until last week,so I am back!,wish I could make it this weekend but I am working again, darn it,going to
sell the boat this year so I can focus on my old sleds for next year,have been talking with Dad without going out on a limb I would
say that we will host a race next winter on a lake only 15 mins from the highway so I need to finally get these things going!,selling

Yeah that was a crack against the rules but I'm sure they can be bent for some things. I finally have something to crack the Merc TT armada but I'm flat broke until next week and the sled needs picks.

took me out the picture,worked on one of the 77 bodies and skis,found some 8f2 belts will have to bait the boys with them!!LOL,
looking at working on the sleds all summer as too much to do if I wait til fall,just need more 77 parts to complete mostly bottom end
parts and such,really looking to put on a fun race over here next year as more central for us anyway,will probably give Alan and Tony
a call sometime to shot the breeze anyway,take it easy.

Yeah it's all trash right now for me especially for workshop space. I'm starting to make heads and tails out of my new spot though. The barn is comming along nice..expanding 13x18 to a 13x30. I'll have a supermod shop when she's all done.

Well there both looking for 8F2's so you never know what you could work out,, would be nice to see a couple races over there next year,,there having a meeting here tomorrow to see what direcrtion to go next year,....R2R

We have a snowmobile club that would love to help out with this,maybe a vintage Saturday and current sleds Sunday thing as it looks
like MSRF is going down so it should draw a fair crowd of sleds,do not want to bash on John as he was the one to start this,just don't
think we should strangle the guts out it with too tight of rules,I think it is set up pretty well now and would like to use the basic rules
that you guys are using right now and see what happens,something I forget to ask,do you have a copy of the MSRF rules from 1992
that you use?,would like to have a copy to look over as cannot remember what is where,as you know I have alot of respect for Alan
and Tony and will see what I can dig up for them,Steve you get that shed any longer you will be able to practice starts!!!LOL.
