Hey!I know the snow has been thin in this area for a while now, but they should have gotten a good dumping this past week. The Coaticook area on the FCMQ site is still showing the trails as closed. I' m riding the NEK of VT and would like to take some loops over the border, seeing that I have a QC trail pass. Does anyone know how this area is? I would have to think that they just don't keep the info accurate. Please leave a report. Thanks, the dude

One of my best friends lives in Sherbrooke and he knows I am contemplating using his house as a "starting place" for a week long trip this coming saturday. If there was any problems with "condtions" he would be on the phone to me so I am assuming it's good right now.

thetford mines area PLENTY of snow

All of the Eastern Townships have plenty snow. Rode back from Thetford Mines to Colebrook on Monday and flat as a pancake.

Right around Sherbrooke is thin and hard as of Monday but very rideable. East and North id good and up towards St George snow is deep. North of the seaway is spectacular........best in years.

The trails around Coaticook are gonna be in good shape this week-end don't be afraid to cross the border !

Trails were excellent. We took off on Friday Morning from Morgan,vt and rode to Lac Etchmin. We ended up doing 295 miles. Saturday we took off from Lac Etchmin and headed towards Lac Megantic. Trail 55 was absolutly awesome. We did an few loops and then rode back to Vermont. Saturday we did 390 Miles.

Thanks for the report and photos...I'm going to the area 2/29 - 3/2.

How is it crossing the border on your sled? Long pavement drive to wait in line or leave sled and walk to check through?
one ton fun
We crossed in Norton, where the trail goes right on there front lawn. Hardly any pavement riding. Have fun on your trip.

Kewl......I'll remember that for next year, always pondered riding from my house to QC but then dreaded the thought of ungroomed Sunday return trip on VT trails after having been in QC

Going to trailer in and ride this time.

Thanks

Just and update. We headed up this weekend from Vermont. We crossed in Norton and the snow was extremely thin in Coaticook. There is not even enough snow to groom and after today's weather there probably wont be enough to ride. If you decide to go into Canada I would highly recommend going in through Beacher Falls. Aside from that trails were superb all the way to Lac Etcemin.
