Here she is fella's

Brand new big ZERO miles and the way it looks she may stay that way until next winter

I am a little surprised how light the rear end is from my F7. I can pick her up and spin her around without a problem. The rider position is a little odd as well. Because she's a 136 I sit more forward than I am used to. Seems like I have a lot more behind me than on my F7 which I guess I do. I was sitting on her playing around and went to throw my body over in a simulated turn and that didn't go over very well. Not like my F7, I needed some body english to turn her but this Crossfire apparently doesn't need that nearly as much as the F7. The dealer said she runs nice and flat in the turns and the 136 really soaks up the bump's!
Now, all I can do is pray for snow. They are calling for 5-6" down here in the LH and they just changed Mon-Wed from rain to snow. I hope it stays that way..
If we do get snow check back since I will be looking for someone to ride with...

Thanks, you obviously run that M7 on the trails around here. How do you like it? I heard that they are rough on the trails which really didn't make sense to me but then again I have never owned nor ridden a long track. I sure can't wait to ride her..
In all honesty, I wanted to keep my F7 and didn't want this Crossfire but I couldn't get the check engine light to stay off and I just kept sinking money into it.. Got to a point where I told Boring if they can't find it I am getting rid of it... Now you know the rest of the story..

Yes, it was the check engine light and yes, I only had it one year. I don't know what caused the problem. I had an electric start put in and the guy had it tore apart for months and never did get it finished. I don't know when then the check engine light started coming on.. I doubt that he did anything but the wiring was hooked up wrong when I got it back.. Could have fried something. I had the following done to it to try and get that damn light to stay off. I know the 03's had smaller coolant lines but I was riding with other 03's and they never saw their lights. So, it wasn't the snow conditions. Hell, the one day I was in about 6" of powder with a good solid base.

04' Coolant upgrade from Cat
New air temp sensor
New thermostat
wiring fixed (from the guy who installed the electric start kit)
All wiring connections cleaned and reseated.
The light still came on.. the last dealer felt it was either the ECU sending bad codes or the water temp sensor. I just wasn't willing to pay to "experiment" on finding the problem. So, here's the new sled. I got one hellv'a deal on her.. Not a good deal on the F7 but considering I will have peace of mind when I hit the trails I am not to upset about it.. It's really a shame because that F7 was the most fun I have ever had on a sled..
Oh, here's the latest weather forecast.. let's pray that it sticks...Supposedly, the storm next week could bring some decent snows.
http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?s...7&map.y=202We had 3" or so this morning and it all melted. The mountain still has about 1" left. Some nut was riding today. You can see the tracks around the measuring board..

Was just curious. Thanks. Agreed on the long track thing. I bought a GTX this fall which is a 2-UP REV which has the 136" track and have put about 300 miles on it so far this winter and love the ride of it. I would rather ride it than my 04 REV MXZ. Its like riding a Cadilac as my brother says.

Nice sled Varmit.
I took a ride to the shop Saturday AM. Lots of $$ setting outside that needs a home, or needs fixed and sent home.! I did a few things over that past week that I'm hoping to check soon......I thought the 900 was running good before but I came to find out a few items could be 'tweeked'.
Even good enough conditions to hit the 31 track, a few trails, or some minor beating in the fields behind Walats (Varmit wanna get the new one some break-in miles) would be OK. Have to see what later this week brings.!

Nice sled! I want a Crossfire really bad. I was thinking of getting one next winter but it'll be too big for our new trailer,

. I heard they ride and run great. I've always liked the long tracks. A buddy of mine has a big Switchback and he says it's awesome on the rough trails.

Thanks Beamer, I am seriously considering taking her up on the mountain today. Some nut already rode past the measuring stick and they only have 4" or so... I am going to try and hold myself back since I don't want a busted A-Arm but hey, it's under warranty right
I will definitly post my review, if that's what you want to call it, as soon as I get to ride her..
The keep switching from rain to snow rain to snow on Monday Through Wednesday... Here's the call this morning. Last night at 11:00 is was rain/snow now it's all snow.. hopefully, since we are getting closer the models are coming into agreement. Some of the discussions are about a big one! I am NOT getting excited about that until I see a foot of snow on the ground.. Then I would be one happy camper along with about 20,000 other guy's and gal's from PA

Beamer, do you want to run a little today in this snow? If you do, I guess I will take a
easy ride

Thanks Jim,
I have a 12 foot enclosed Blizzard and she
just fits. Now that this thread got going I am getting pretty excited to ride her.. They are lighter than what I expected which is odd. The 03 F7 was supposed to be 460 pounds dry weight and this Crossfire is 490 but she feels lighter.. I can much more easily pick up the ass end and throw it around, more so than the F7. I think it has something to do with the length of the track and leverage.

I remember you telling me how nice the ride was on that yami'. Considering the bad trails on the ridge I should find out how sweet the ride is within the first 10 miles.
Well, I know for a fact I spend to much time on weather forums along with HCS but the word on the street is we are going to get some really good snow twice this week. The storm coming on the 13-14th has some great potential and the one next Friday has some super potential to bring over a foot.. Everyone seems to agree on the storm next weekend and that one appears to be a big one.. Now, with that said, I will believe it when I see it.. Hell, some of the threads are talking about ALOT of snow... Considering how this winter has gone so far I think that the LEAST mother nature could do for us is two Nor'Easters in a row.. bring on the snow! STAY POSITIVE.. Ok, now I am going back into my rain soaked depression..

If we do get snow and you actually take some time off and want someone to ride with let me know. I would love to spend a couple of days up in the ANF. I have never ridden there and it would be nice to ride with someone who knows the area and could show me around. I can get time off pretty easy so that shouldn't be a problem at all.
It is still showing snow for
Monday night, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That is a lot of days that's it snowing.. Pray it holds..
Oddly enough, everyone is calling for snow except Henry who is calling for rain. Which means it's going to SNOW! I like watching his blog because he does seem to have a passion for the weather and is somewhat hilarious to watch when gets all worked up.. On the flip side he doesn't get it right to many times..

Thanks for the comments on the sled.. I know I am feeling a little better about not having to watch for the check engine light now. I think that expierience made me crazier than I already was.
IF we get enough ridable snow I am going take Thursday, Friday and maybe Monday off. Probably head to camp Friday night or Saturday morning. I will ride around here in the evenings and Thursday afternoon. Are you up for an evening ride one night after work
if we get enough of the white stuff? I can be at the route 31 lot by 5:00 if I take the sleds to work. I'll give you a call or shoot me a PM throughout the day if you want to ride in the evenings.

Hey Jerry,
Good to see your still kicking. I haven't seen you post for a while and I was wondering what was up. Thanks for the compliment. It's my first "new" sled so I am excited to break her in. We
should have enough snow to ride by Wednesday night
if we get the 4"+ they are calling for. We have around 4" now on the mountain, add to that some more over the weekend and that should put the finishing touches on the trails. I am
not getting my hopes up but I am trying to stay positive.
Just shoot me a PM or give me a call when you plan on coming up. I think I gave you my cell number last time we rode together. If I didn't send me a PM and I'll give it to you.
Hoping for snow!

Glad to hear the Crossfire works good

Like I said, I wanted to get a Crossfire but because of our trailer, it won't fit. My dad just got a new F8 and I don't know how it compares to the Crossfire, but that is hands down the best sled I ever rode. My dad says so too. He wasn't happy with the Firecat at all, it was a good decision to get rid of it. I rode it for half a mile and it looks like I'm going to be riding an F6 next year. It's just amazing. It rides like none other and handles great. I couldn't get over the weight a first, but once you are on it you don't even notice the weight. I took it for a spin down a trail, looked at the speedo I was doing 50. I was down the same trail with the ZR doing 50 and I was almost getting thrown off.
