Im so sick of all the negativity on this forum I thought Id start a new thread about how great these Phazers are. 1500 miles and not a single problem and yes I ride it hard. Who else loves their Phazer? There has got to be more than just me who is happy. Now this is a thread for those who LIKE their sled so the usual assholes who have nothing but bad stuff to say can start yet another thread about how much they hate their sled.

Natty...my freakin' rocks. This sled has done wonders for revitalizing my interest in snowmobiling. I currently have about 2600 miles on mine...mind you a couple jackass operator problems (front end has a little tweak, but I suppose that happens when you hit a rock in the ditch). Anyway, love the sled, lookin' to put on a Schmidt Bros. dual exhaust may be next year and possibly take your recommendation of RydeFX Air 2.0's on the front end...just not quite sure on the back end! Anyway...love the post! Later!
P.S. I know I paid a little much for the FIX clutch kit...but its working really well right now! Just in case anyone needs another clutch kit source. Happy Trails!

I freakin' love my Phazer. This sled is what revitalized my interest in snowmobiling. I find this sled is robust enough for ditch bangin', comfortable enough for long distance riding or just good old trail rippin'. Not so much for lake, but "a man's got to know his limitations". It is a strong "little four stroke turd" that puts a smile on my face everytime I ride it! Hopin' to put on a Schmidt Bros. dual exhaust, or equivalent at the start of next winter as well as some Air 2.0's or Floats up front. Not sure what I'm gonna do out back for suspension just yet. I know there is always more horsepower out there (Nytro) but I absolutely love the way my sled fits my riding style. Not too much power that it gets me in trouble either. And that's a good thing!
P.S. Natty, when you covered your tunnel, did you cover the front hole too or just the large rear one??? Later!

No offense, but sleds like yours are a dime a dozen so I dont think you be doing bad at all with that trade. I had that exact same sled and I think you can get those for like $3000 to $3500. Youd be gettin a Phazer real cheap with alot of extras.

Yeah, Im not quite sure what it is, but these have a fun factor that other sleds dont have. When Im out riding it, I dont want to stop and I can honestly say I havent had that feeling on my other sleds. My Firecat was close, but this has something more thats hard to explain to someone thats never ridden one.

How would you compare it to your Rev? Handling, stutter bumps, etc...?

Feb 11 2008, 05:15 PM
Hey Hemi,
I had a "trail converted" 440 rev...I actually prefer the handling of the Phazer in some respects. The Phazers suspesnion is WAY softer than the rev, so on small stuff, even stutters, it feels smoother than the 440 did, on big hits the Rev felt worlds better. The Phazer is crazy tippy and you really have to move around alot when riding it, not so on the REV. The other negative quality I have noticed is, if there is any kind of decline, the Phazer goes that way, where the rev tracked alot straighter (very noticable in ditch riding). The Phazer with good clutching and a big lug track is actually quite quick up to about 40 ish, a very fun sled! I have been looking for an IQ440, but that is not to say I have not enjoyed the Phazer! It really is one of the "funnest" sleds I have ever ridden.

i let a guy ride my phazer last week. when i rode his rev for a while i was somewhat disappointed. the phazer is one cool machine, not to mention the crazy wheelies you can do.

This is the kinda info I've been looking for on these machines. It's nice to see so many people outside of their teens riding them too. I was thinking they for machines for "tweeners" those not ready for big machines but too big for the little ones.
I especially like to hear people talk about the added "fun" factor. I ride to have fun and this machine seems to offer it. I'll continue to window shop. Keep the comments coming, lots of us are reading!

I am with you guys on this post for sure!!! I have 400 milles down on my 2007 phazer fx and have ridden pretty hard with no problems!! Now that I have a general breakin period over with I can really get after it! I have owned some pretty sweet sleds and this is by far the best one I have owned, it handles good(could be better, but workin on that), takes approches and natural jumps awsome, and really suprised me how good it handled of the beaten path! I will keep you guys posted on all my phazer endevores!!!

I rode a polaris RMK 800 mod w/ over 160 hp and 151" track last year. This year Im ridin a stock '08 Phazer MTX and absolutly love it! Its underpowered for climbing but that alright cuz its making me a better, more technical rider. The guy that bought my old sled rode with us this weekend and switched me for a while. Ridin the 800 again was fun but I couldnt get my sled back soon enough.

I am real happy with mine, I wish I would have opted for thew RTX only for the stiffer ride. I am looking into new shocks for the rear and revalving the fronts, also a 1.5 free ride seems to be a good choice. Put just over 300 miles on it with no problems yet.

Bought my sled thursday, 2007 FX, and rode 850km, not a single problem.
It is amazing for carving and good in the deep snow.
Thing i liked most is you could get it to bounce in the deep snow. It is good for jumping and everything.

Keep the good reviews coming! i've been looking for a new sled for my girl friend, and was thinking about gettingf an Arctic Cat F570, but i think i am going to get a new Phazer for me and she can have my F5, We ride a lot of back-trails (woods) so power is not the reason i am buying a sled, i look for sleds that have good handling, and sleds that are light with half decent gas milage, and the Phazer sounds exactly like my kind of sled.

One question: how good are these at jumping, cause my F5 is terrible at jumping

As you can see by my picture I love this sled, best purchase I've made in years always been a yamaha fan! The added dual carbon fiber mufflers make a killer echo going through the woods! Smilling every ride.

i keep adding little things to the sled to personalize it for me. the latest thing is a 2 in. bar riser. this will hopefully made it more comfortable for stand up riding.you can see by my age that i am not very young. heres a good one for you... my brother bought an FX when i did last year. he just added some risers too and he is 59 years old. he is in his second childhood too.

I needed a big change, i was getting bored. My Phaser brought the fun back i used to have as a kid! 2000 miles and no break downs. Some free updates. Maybe not the greatest sled ever, but i really like mine.

my phazer is oldschool (1988) but in all honesty i have to say i love the hell outta that old girl. i recently burnt a piston, but thats not the sleds fault, just me being an idiot. I like it enough to not think twice about putting out the cash to rebuild the top end. Most of the older stuff Ive owned, i would have rather sold it than fix it, but not with this one. It was the first yammi ive ever owned, and i wont hesitate to buy another
