Does anyone have a picture of an XCR800 of the exhaust showing what flanges go where? This is a 1999 Agressive chassis, probably the same as gen2's, not sure?
Thanks,
Randy

Here is a Gen 2, but flanges are the same.

Check this page out. Items #19,20, & 21. All different part numbers. They should be stamped on the flanges (mine were). Last summer when I had mine off for Flannery to do his magic to mine I ran into the same problem and this was how I solved it.

That picture did the trick, thanks.
My flanges don't have part numbers on them, so just wanted to make sure. Now, afterseeing the picture, after cleaning them to look for part numbers, found 2 marked with M and C, but not very clear, and that matches the picture so all is good now...
So for 38mm round slides and XCR ves set up, is 430mj a good place to start with stock agressive air box?

Anyone know if the flanges on a 1999 are same as the picture posted above?
I have a problem with the bottom of Mag pipe hits the H2o pump. It looks like moving flanges around is not going to help.
A picture of a 1999 XCR under the hood would save a thousand "F-bombs" right about now. Anyone???
It is a 1997 XCR 600 (agressive), and I put a '99 XCR 800 upper end on '97 XCR 600 bottom end and chassis, Now I can't get the pipes to fit...
1999 XCR pipes and flanges, Hope fully someone has pictures?

The flanges are right...but the pump is wrong. The VES XCR motors used a slightly different water pump housing that will clear the pipe flange. I've seen some non-VES style pump cases ground down and use an allen head bolt on top to gain some clearance.

The VES pump is here: http://partsland.com/index.cgi?N=120251598...-XCR-WATER-PUMP

The non-VES pump is here: http://partsland.com/index.cgi?N=120251598...-XCR-WATER-PUMP

Notice the difference on top of the pump housing. Sorry for the bad news.

Ah, I see say Blind man!
I got them to fit, the flanges don't fit the way they were marked or the the way the gen2 in the photo. The 3rd try seems to fit now, not sure if it is right, and I will have to add some clearance there on the mag pipe for the pump.
Thanks,
Randy

A picture of the pipes or flanges installed on a 1999 XCR 800, would really help me out. Anyone?
2 out of 3 pipes leak at the donut, and silicone didn't hold. I have no idea if the flanges are on the right cylinders and have tried 3 combinations so far, how many would there be, six? I hate to start cutting pipes to get them to fit, man they are a tight fit in there.
Also, anyone know if the 1999 water pump will fit the 1997 bottom end? The rebuilt pump leaks, and I don't see anything wrong. $200 in new parts, and the new impeller seams to be a real loose fit on the new shaft and I'm sick of screwing with this POS after working on it up in Cable, Wi last week in the below zero cold, not fun.
It ran 200 miles with no loss of coolant, then a quart every 20 miles out the front of the pump.
It did accomplish it's main purpose this trip, "sleeper", LOL, it beat my buddies XC700 with a 120 lb handicap. It is way down on power though, probably pipe leak and too fat on mains so far.
Thanks,
Randy

The '99's and 2000-up motors use the same exhaust manifolds. They need to be positioned like shown in the picture....but then your pipe won't fit over the pump housing. The '99-up XCR 700 or 800 pump will work in your bottom end.

You are using '99 XCR VES pipes right??? The non-VES pipes will also cause a fit problem.

Yes, 1999 XCR 800 VES cyl's, exh. flanges, and pipes. Nothing would fit for crap with flanges in position shown on the gen2 XCR. I found a picture of the some gen2 pipes installed and they are different than the '99 pipes. I did grind the mag pipe and pump/screw for clearance, still not sure I have flanges in the right places yet. I just wish I had spent the money on a new water pump and been done with it.
Anyone else notice a poor fit on the impeller?
Someone has to have a 1999 and a camera?

Click to view attachmentI have HTG pipes on this one, should still be stock flangs, I beleive. I picked it up as you see it.
Also, posted this on another thread a couple days ago.

Thanks, I think that's the way I have them, I'll look tonight. Is the center one angled the most to the left and the Mag one the straightest one? The close up picture, it's hard to tell, and I'm almost blind, LOL.

when I took my engine out of the 99 chassis and put it in the gen 2 chassis, I just changed the pipes. Flanges were ok... I didn't swap any.
