This isent only a trail conditions forum. Its the general minnesota forum so he can talk about anything he wants to here. But you must have a problem with that.

I talked to darrin at duluth lawn and sport and they have the 09 e-tec prototype there on the floor. He said, they are putting out as much h.p. at the 600s.d.i. with lower emissions than most 4 strokes. He said, the average rider puts on about 1000mi. a year, if you fill the oil res. 1 time at the starting of the year it is claimed to last over 1000mi. and get 24mpg. I'll beleave it when i see it but thats what there claiming. There is suppose to be a demo day up at sunset bar with the 09's for demo i beleave on the 12th. Call duluth lawn to be sure on the date but i think thats what they said. It also has a 1 pull start system. they said they have started it almost 200 times so far and it starts the first pull everytime. When i was there he started it in the showroom and let it run for about 1min and you couldent smell any exhaust with no smoke. Also the weight is 410lbs. on the tnt. if you pick up the rear you wont beleave how light it is! Im going to wait a year before i invest in the e-tec, let them work out the bugs from the first year. the price was said to be about 9000 msrp is 9499
Walleye

Its a good idea im sure, but not really anything Id be interested in. It will be very interesting to see how this motor holds up. Lets hope ski-doo has some high HP sleds up its sleeve also.

I asked darrin about 800 and a 1000 e-tec. He said there were rumers but nothing solid yet.

FWIW, I put a couple miles on one couple weekends back. IMO your correct. The "seat of my pants" feel left me wondering why it isn't any faster... a 600 sdi won't have a problem with the E-Tec's as far as speed and power.

Impressive if everything they say is true about them. It did the one pull start from cold. VERY low smoke, just a hint after it warmed up. Low odor and the motor "sounds" it gave were that of a four stroke. It was different to ride. lol. I will say I wouldn't buy a short track XP to save my life tho. Nothing like the long tracks.

In my experience it seems like the the customers always know before the dealers.

When my friend (who was buying a belt for his XP after 200 miles) mentioned dootalk at Beaver Bay sports the dude said "Whats dootalk?". And when told about the XP belt blowing issue the guys said, "Oh maybe thats why Im selling so many of these belts." WTF???

I looked at one the other day but never rode it.. seems like a good idea. I wouldn't want to be the test buyer though!!lol. price is steep. I hope it works good for them,though.. anything to keep the 2 strokes in the game is a good thing!!

To me it is a little suspect that the technology was not released on the new 800r xp. Still trying to figure out why the 800r xp has carbs on it in this day and age??

1st off this is a Minnesota forum , anything Minnesota . the 600DI is basicly a 600 ho with a different top end , so it is just the same power wise 118 hp . The power with the huge weight savings is the big difference but more than that is super lite throttle pull and oil use , No 4 stroke for me .
