Hello,

My DESS Key on my 2000 MXZ 700 has this little metal magnetic thing inside of it (I think this is a type of micro chip). The little metal magnetic thing moves around freely. Once when I went to turn the sled around on the trails I forgot that I was attached and pulled the key out killing the engine. Well the little metal magnetic thing came out and ended up sitting on the console of the sled. I put it back in and no problems.

My question is should that metal magnetic thing be able to move around freely and come out when you "fall" off the sled? I think not as I can see it getting lost in the snow and then not being able to start the sled, but it does not look like it is broken (no breaks or ruff metal of any kind).

nice pic and mine doesn't fall out... I am assuming there is some form of plastic clip that broke.. I would maybe just try to super glue it.. and do not super glue any prongs that look like they hook to anything!!!

Yeah mine does the same thing on my 01. My local dealer told me to superglue it back in. Just be careful not to get glue on the face of it, otherwise you'll have to scrape it to get a good contact. I used a tooth pick to apply it to the 4 points.
