I pay about $230 per sled for full coverage with nationwide. You get a discount for having your other insurance with them.

I dumped Allstate in Concord a number of years back because they insisted that I fully cover my 3 sleds for the entire year! I was with them for 20 years! Maybe they've lost enough clients to change their perspective on sleds? They also lost my homeowners, 2 autos, and 2 motorcycle policies!
Now using Farm Family in Ashland, though rates have crept up considerably and it is definitely time to shop around again! $370 per year full coverage w/$200 deductible, but I suspend liability and collision during the off season which makes it ALOT less. That is for my '00 Polaris 600 Touring; my '04 Switch 700 is considerably more. They all give you a great rate to get your foot in the door, but watch out! Make sure they will suspend coverage during the off season.

Same with me. I was told by my agent that Allstate didn't really want to be in the snowmobile business anymore. Thats why it was so expensive and why they wouldn't let me suspend my insurance in the off season any longer. Used to be an acceptable cost until they did that.

Right around 300 a year for full coverage with State Farm, have house and cars with them.
NHboy
$469 for 3 sleds full coverage.

$369 for 6 months usage, $100 for 6 months fire & theft. Kurt Wicks in Manchester is the man!

Remember rates depend on where you live and store the equipment.

State Farm, $230 a year- that's a 6 month policy and the machine is covered under my home owners for fire and theft for the other 6 months. Got all my insurance from them.

These threads are really of very limited use. Everyone pays a different rate based on a variety of factors possibly including, but not limited to, year, make, model, cc's, operator's age, operator's experience, accident history, motor vehicle record, credit history, garaging location, other insurance (multi policy discount) to name a FEW. There are often other factors as well. Usually, your best bet is to call an independent agent who can quote several companies and do the shopping for you. Also, you might consider that the cheapest policy isn't always cheapest in the long run. I laugh out loud every time I read a thread where someone is getting "screwed" by the insurance company and wonder if that company was the rock bottom price as well. Pay attention the next time a news story runs about insurance, and remember the name of the carrier that is causing the trouble. Customer service is worth something to some people, especially when the season to ride is short.

Are you convinced another national company with captive, non-independent agents will treat you better?

Allstate has been very good to me,two almost totaled sleds in 5 years. When I bought the first blade I kind of wondered how a theft claim would work.As I understood it,they would set the sleds value with an average used value(nada).I have the blades insured for what it would cost for me to replace them as set up,enough to have a new one built. It was the only way to replace my HPO,especally with the customizing for myself, shocks, seat ,motor, bars.Kind of like classic car insurance. Now what puzzels me is that my 2000 grand touring 600 costs me more than the 2005 gsx 500. both have the same engine.598cc.I was going to drop those two to liability only, but the price difference for full coverage was minimal. They do allow(again)you to drop it to comp in the summer.Four sleds, just short of $1500.hpo is ins. for 24K,1wx 14K,trailer 4K and the ski-doos for whatever they deem the replacement cost to be.I still dont know what would really happen if it came to a theft claim but they have treated me fairly in the past and the price seems not out of line with what Im seeing here.
