I've got a 2003 Pro X 440 and recently I went to take a check under the hood the see what was going on because I had oil or residue spurting out from somewhere. When I saw it was coming from just one of power valves, I took the cover off and the was oil all over the inside of the cover and on the spring... all over. I took the other cover off to compare and it was clean, i start playing with it and oil keeps on coming out. I talked to my friends dad and all he said is that I have to clean them off. The problem is I don't know how. If someone could tell me how I'd appreciate it.

Replace both bellows and springs @ the same time.Clean it by putting the valves only in a varsol (or stronger thinner)solution over night. Then clean the next day,you may use a soft (brass) brush or wirewheel,or scotchbrite pad, to get the stubborn stuff off.CLEAN WELL,no fragments of any kind, before replacing into machine.

Oven cleaner, which can be bought at your local supermarket, also works very well for cleaning the valves off.
Just remember to wear gloves when you do it because it will chem burn the snot out of your fingers..........

oven cleaner or carb & choke cleaner works well. Disassemble the entire valve and use a scotch bright pad. As others have said, you need 2 new billows and springs. Be careful when putting the valves back together, the nut on top of the valve does not need to be torked very hard. The valve stems break easy.
