Well, my favorite event of the year is upon us, Derby Weekend. But it looks like I am going to have trouble getting my sled on the ice this year with a week of rain and warm ahead of us! We fish Massabesic and wheelers aren't allowed on that lake, only sleds for access and our spot is easily a mile walk from where you can park.

If you are fishing, where will you be, and how will you get out there?

We were riding Winni yesterday morning on Paugus Bay, within 10 min. our sleds were overheating so we gave up. Snow has melted and frooze to a sheet of ice. By next wkend you will probably be able to ice skate out there.

No kidding! We fished Baboosic Lake yesterday and when that sun came out we could have used water craft. 3" of slush and water on top of the ice.

6 inches in Meredith at 6 AM and it was still coming down. Was starting to mix with sleet in New Hampton. I think this one surprised the road crews because 104 and Interstate 93 were a disaster. Of course I didn't see any accidents until we got down to Concord where the roads were clear. Damn city slickers. Forecast is looking better and is even calling for snow Thursday after the wintery mixes today and tomorrow. The ice may be a go this weekend...fingers crossed.

Yep, people were worried this last rain would kill the conditons, but the next 7 day forcast looks like on and off snowfall and should set us up good once again!

You're probably right hdcrust. Was thinking about an evening ride on the lake tonight but the fog stopped me. The snow we're getting right now into tomorrow should help along with the cold on it's way in. I plan on a trip tomorrow afternoon from Gilford on the lake. Anyone intersted? As soon as I can see, I'm heading out. PM me if you're intersted. I'll meet anywhere.
