Me and a few of my buddies headed out of coventry south on 122 great riding then headed over toward east burke then up around maidstone lake then into island pond to grab a bite to eat at valentines restaurant and some mother F-ur steals my helmet and my gloves! What the hell i try to escape this shit in ct and have to deal with it up there. You have no idea how pissed i am. Now the big problem is how the fuck do i get home. Well a nice guy i think his name was Matt let me borrow his spare helmet and i brought it back yesterday to valentines restaurant. Now if anybody has any info or if your on HCS then just do the right thing and give it back and i wont have any hard feelings. Doubt it will happen though. It was a bvs2 helmet and black leather gloves.

Wow, that sucks. What a loser whoever clipped yer stuff. You're right, you wouldn't expect that from another snowmobiler. I always take my helmet in and put it where I can see it. Had a visor cord stolen from me once in Caanan.

Im the dumb ass for leaving it outside. It was right in front of the window near the fire they had outside and i was sitting there looking at it and took my eyes off of it about 5 minutes. Honestly when i was sitting there there were a couple of guys sitting in the corner kinda staring at me every once in a while and didnt think nothing of at the time but after my shit disappeared i kinds think it was them. It seems they were trying to pay attention to when i wasnt looking at my helmet.

Sorry to hear that.I'm paranoid when it comes to leaving any type of gear on my sled.What I'm really worried about is my easy to remove seat on my XP,takes 10seconds and it's gone.....Sounds like a smartass kid took your gear because no adult would take a pair of sweaty-ass gloves.

If it was the guys in the restaurant they were a bit older than me. As for the gloves they took them because they were in the helmet. Just amazes me that another sledder up there would do that shit. I expect that shit down here.

I had lunch at valentines on friday and never thought that could happen in a place like that, gloves arent a big deal but a helmet, that sucks.

Good food and nice people just got a few crooks in town. My helmet was on 1 of the tables next to the firepit right in my sights just took my eye off of it for a couple minutes and it was gone. I would have rather had my sled stolen then my helmet ive got full coverage. No insurance on a $430 helmet

JOEZREVIT ... Do you have a picture of the helmet, just in case one of us sees one like it? I know many helmets look alike but if it had something distingishable on it or had a graphic or something noticable...maybe we could locate the helmet. I know its a long shot...but couldn't hurt! I wouldn't think another snowmobiler would take a helmet or gloves...may have been a local teen....who knows. Just plain sucks though sorry to hear it! Reminds us all to keep close tabs on our stuff...went into Home Spun Pizza and left my helmet and gloves outside on my sled...took the key though I will take it all in with me from now on...you just never know!

Dont have a picture of it but about a million other people have the same one. It has no graphics on it at all. The more i think about it it had to be the guys in the restaurant that kept looking at me. The reason they took it is because they probably know the value of it. I bet they just kept waiting to see when i was taking my eyes off of it just so they could get it.

Did you report the theft to Constable Teddy Miller? Or was he too busy ticketing someone for not using a turn signal or some other major traffic violation?

....I'm going to put a GPS locator with a teaspoon of plastic explosives rigged to my shiny new helmet (under the liner) and then I'd hope that punk that lifted yours....gets mine also.... '....what the fuck...? is that beep beep..... POW!!!'

Joe i have a bvs2 xxl i will sell you cheap. I just picked one up in ip over the weekend some dumbass left it sitting there. Just kidding!!!! That sucks some ass would do that. I have a xxl modular that is a spare you are welcome to it till you get a new one.

Hey Joe, one thing you may want to do is keep checking Ebay... They probably think they can make some quick cash and Ebay is a breeding ground for that type of behavior.. It's a long shot, but I would keep an eye on it for the next few weeks and just remember, if crooks were smart, they wouldn't be crooks!!!!

It is true that they arent too smart but the helmet is so common i would have a hard time telling if it was mine unless they were stupid enough to sell it with my gloves. I GUESS YOU NEVER KNOW THOUGH!
