I have a 97 Ultra SPX with factory plastic skis and skags. Could someone help me with info on making it easier to steer for my wife. The skis follow others grooves in hardpack and is just hard to wrestle. Thanks

The biggest strikes it has against it as far as steering easy, is the obvious tripple w/heavy factory tripples and the Aggressive chassis, which unfortunately is a bit heavy itself. Did you try letting out the front limiter straps or adj IFS springs just tight enough to keep them from rattling? For your wife, you could put on E-Z steer skegs. On a '97 you can physically lower the front of the skid down one hole without binding of the suspension, but you may end up with a front end that wants to lift uncontrolably, so I'd try the limiter straps first.
Also, with the front end off the ground, make sure the spindle bushings aren't binding and steering is free.

I'd look for a set of SLP SLT skis for her, they have very low steering effort, and don't follow other ruts/grooves as bad.
