Looking at warm temps with rain on tuesday and tues night and weds,...might be the end to many trails for this year as long range maps dont look good either. Good thing I have a 1600 mi9le year in so far,..I suspect parts of the NEK will hold on, others wont, and south of this area,..forget it,...bring on summer.....another dissapointing winter...

Don't give up yet. March can be our snowiest month.

I mentioned this two weeks ago - and it hasn't improved whatsoever.
http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/inde...howtopic=302892We may get a good storm in March or Late February, but how long would you expect the snowcover to last when daily highs are poking into the 40's everyday?

By March, the sun angle just destroys the roads, even woods trails are being hurt by the sun, Im afraid the major snowmobile manufactureres will NOT be getting any of my $$$ AGAIN this year or next. At the rate Ive been putting miles on, (1000 in 06, 1500 in 07, so far 1600) I will not need to replace either of my sleds for another 5-6 years. December looked so good, I knew it wouldnt last, but I didnt think it would go so far in the opposite direction. I think its just going to get worse as we go through feb, better ride NOW as it looks bad for the next 3-4 weeks. I look forward to the ATV season!!
This weather just blows and doesn't look good..Expect a few good snow falls in April right after Vast shuts down the trails..

do you know what plans the Vermont ATV association have for this summer. It would be great to see more trails go up in northern Vermont. Right now there is limited place to ride ATV unless you go to NH

Well the up side to this winter: shouldn't be a drought, and maybe Maple Syrup season will be good. And maybe, just maybe, seeing where the fuel usage wasn't what it could have been, might drive down the price, or at least helped people cope better with trying to stay warm.

Last year the best riding startedafter Feb 14 when VT got the biggest snowfall in history. Over 38" at my place then had a few good ones after that.
