My lady friend and I are thinking about taking a day trip and riding tomorrow up in Chester, VT. Anyone going to be out or know the conditions up there? This will be our first ride up in that area and welcome any advice that would help us out. If someone would like to meet up and ride out I am going to try to leave Somers, CT by 8AM putting me up in the parking area by the ball fields in Chester around 10am. Thanks in advance for any advice. Enjoy your weekend wherever you are riding.

I'd go but I'm working tomorrow. I'm open sunday...

I rode from Chester a few weeks ago. Things were great till the trail crossed a paticular road while going west. The trail went from a good 2 sled wide trail to a basic 1 sled trail for quite a while. Passing would involve both sleds putting their right skis off the trail. We headed to Mt Tabor. For the most part, signage was poor to non existant. Once we hit 7, the signs were back. Looping north and east, the signage was much better.

Overall, the ride wasn't bad, but it was made difficult due to a lot of guessing where we were and which way to go. The basic route was west on 12 to 7N to 127E to 12S. There is a scenic area just north of WR45 while doing the loop, its worth the trip.

I dont know if the signage has been addressed, or if it was a one time thing. If I didn't have my GPS to at least let me know what direction I was going at times, it would have been a much longer day.

Have fun riding, its a lot easier to get there to ride than Woodford. I'm looking to try Springfield next time, just up the highway one more exit.
