Heres a few pics of the Seat Jack installed on my 07 Crossfire 800. The brackets were modified by the previous owner to work with the removable seat on the Crossfire. There are (3) holes that had to be drilled on each side of the tunnel, all of which are not even close to any heat exchangers. The install literally took me about 15 minutes, and mostly because the brackets were already modified, if you need to modify your brackets it may take longer. I also added flexible bars typically used as handlebar straps to the existing handles, as they are hard to hold onto otherwise. I am thinking about adding something for my son to use as a footrest, as his legs are not long enough to reach the running boards.

The thing goes on and off real easy. I took my son out after the install and it worked great! The best part is that with the added length of the Crossfire, the seat jack does not cover any of the stock seat and I have full use of the seat.

Jay,

Excellent post and pictures and thanks for the followup. I was able to get my seat jack installed shortly after we had chatted (big thanks to GuyFromTheNorth for providing me with pictures of his installation). I finally got a chance to try mine out this weekend with my wife on the back and it worked like a charm. I never bottomed out once with both of us on the sled and it did not affect the handling at all.

The brackets you are using are different than the once I got. I got the F7CAT ones that are for the Sabercat/older F series sleds and the only thing that I had to do was drill holes for the seat mounting studs these brackets also have a channel in them to allow the lip of the seat to fit more naturally. They have a wider support and two sets of holes in them so the inside holes wind up missing the coolant lines. To mount them I removed the seat studs placed the brackets where they needed to go on the tunnel and marked the seat stud hole locations by running a pen around the stud hole from underneath the sled. I then drilled out the holes so that the threaded portion of the seat studs would fit and mounted the brackets with just the seat studs and finally drilled out the two inside holes for the mounting bolts and then bolted everthing in place. I used red locktite on all the bolts including the seat studs since the nyloc nuts originally used in them did not fully extend all the way through anymore.

For those who are trying to decide between the Arctic Cat Speedseat and Seat Jack I would definitely lean toward the Seat Jack. The backrest alone makes it worth it. About the only negative that I have found is that I cannot use my mountain bag with it on the sled but once the seat is off there is no problem. I am trying to figure out a work around though.

My total cost for the Seat Jack was $150 on Ebay (including shipping) before the season kicked in and I ordered the brackets from Al's Snowmobile in Vermont for $103 including shipping.

Glad you like the workmanship Jay!! The modification is quite easy as you just weld some to the inside of each based on the zr type fitment. I used the seat clips as mounting bolts and trimmed the edge to make sure the removable pin could detach the seat easily and it went in very easily. I am glad it has worked out for ya and hope you enjoy many miles on it.

Hey Jay, I'm looking at a used Xfire right now just for that reason. Did you add heated handwarmers in the back? Do you think it is possible?

Thanks,
Frank

No handwarmers, but I added mountain style flexible bars to each side, for (2) reasons - first the normal hand holds are too low and second so that my son is not holding onto bare metal, but rubber instead. He has only complained about his hands once and it was approaching 0* outside.

I have seen elsewhere where somebody had added heat tape to their add on seat. I thought it was the guy who had the 2 person Cat seat for the Z1, it was posted here.

I have no plans to add handwarmers.
