I have a guy wanting to possibly trade me a 78 Arctic Cat El Tigre 6000 for my 90 Safari. What is one worth??? I would use it for the odd vintage show, drags, and radar runs, if I get it. I can't get a pic from the guy, so I'm going to have to pick his brain for the condition. I can't even find any decent pics through google on the 78 tiger. Can anybody post some for me? This way I can send them to him as a comparison. Thanks.

Well I have seen pics of the one which has been offered. It looks better under the hood than that one does! The sled offered needs a seat cover, and hood decals though.

I've seen a couple of similar sleds for sale in the Vintage For Sale section in the past year, that were in excellent original or nicely restored condition...they generally go for $500-1000 (tops)...some may think they'll go for more, but I've heard that the vintage sled market stateside has come down quite a bit this year...what do you think your Safari is worth?
A set of repro decals will be $165.45 + shipping http://www.sledstuff.com/78_tigre6000_kit.htm ...a good seat cover is probably going to cost you $100-250, depending on on who makes it...
a cool sled, but those are some things to consider...
also, if it's cleated track, it may need to be replaced...
Good Luck!

My Safari isn't worth all that much, as I don't have an ownership for it. It's in real good shape, but I don't use it. (insert phone call, answer, and discussion) I just got off the phone with a guy who's buying it! So I guess I can shop around, because I actually think the 6000 is fuggin ugly! LOL!!! I would really really like and old 77 style RV, or Sonic! I've always loved the way those things look! Unfortunately i just missed out last weekend on a 77 Sonic for $600!!!! Grrrrrr..

Try posting on the Antique and Classic website. www.acscc.com ...you can join the site without being a club member...I know a fellow in Goderich named John B. on that site who may have some RV connections (he's big into Sno-Twisters, but he's had some racy 'Doo's around, too!)
Cheers!
