A buddy said there was a thread on here of how to make your seat softer, I can't find it. Anybody else think this seat is too hard? What are your recommendations?? By the way, Its a 06 IQ 440.... Any help?????

take the cover off and drill a bunch of holes in the foam. I've seen it done, never felt the difference.

How big are the holes suspose to be?? Drill all the way through?? Drill on the top, side???

i wouldnt drill all the way through, but then again i wouldnt drill into my seat foam anyways. lol. Just go part of the way in so that you maintain some of the structural integrity to the seat so that on a hard landing it doesn't get smashed and deforms your seat all to hell. I have an Fusion seat that i was going to mod so that it would fit on nice against the tank on the IQ and look factory, so that i would have a plush ride. but i never got around to it with college and such, but if you wana try that id be willing to sell the seat to you. Pm me if interested.

Well I tackled the hard seat problem today, but not quite done yet. I took the wife's electric carving knife and cut a good section of the hard foam out of the seat, then I measured the cutout. I had some pretty dense foam laying around and measured it and cut it to fit in the section I removed. I got it to fit pretty good. I first pulled the seat cover back over to see if it looked alright, and it looked great, couldn't tell anything was done. But it was alot softer. Just wondering how I should attached the 2 pieces of foam together?? Or do you think the seat cover will get the foam in the right place??? Any susgestions???

I would probably use some type of spray adhesive. Once it sets up, you can touch up the seams with the carving knife (if needed) and re-install the cover. Should work fine.

Yeah, I hear of people using the spray adhesive or glue for seats on MX bikes where they add the "hump" to keep them forward.
